Rude and uncaring
My mother was in the hospital and Dr. Kelly was sent in to consult with her. We are all hearing impaired and I use an app on my phone to assist in understanding what is being stated. I notified Dr. Kelly when he walked in that I was using the app. I was immediately concerned because he appeared to be frustrated when he walked in. When I asked why a neurosurgeon was visiting my mom, his response was 'I don't know, they sent me here'. It should be noted that this was late afternoon. I asked, Dr. Kelly on several occasions to please be more sensitive to my mom because of her hearing, and other physical issues that she was going through. He stated that, 'I need to hear it from her'. I told him that I understood , but he was being harsh and rushing her to answer questions. When my Sister, phoned to make an appt. with his partner, Dr. Ruben at referral, she was denied! Evidently, because I stood up for my mom. I was only helping my mom, respectively. Seems like retaliation and abandonment

We were referred to Dr. Kelly by two of my other doctors. They both told us that if anyone could help me he would be the one. We met with him discussed the surgery and set it up not knowing how much it would help but thinking that any relief of the pain would help. After my surgery Dr. Kelly and Amber visited each day I was in the hospital some times several times. They talked to us like friends and, explained every thing. The first time I got out of the hospital bed I knew that everything he did was a success. For the first time in years I was able to get up and walk with no pain. I owe Dr. Kelly and Amber more thanks than I could ever give them. Their staff in their office was very caring and helpful as well. I feel very thankful that my two Doctors referred me to him. I will recommend Dr. Kelly to everyone and my wife and I are already giving out he cards. People don't like hospitals But with Dr. Kelly, Amber and all the nurses in the Neuroscience unit you are in excellent hands.

I was referred to Dr. Kelly by my GP for lower back pain and leg weakness. Dr. Kelly answered all my questions and commended my conservative approach to trying everything first (lumbar shot, oral steroids, diet change, PT) before undergoing surgery. Once I exhausted non-invasive approaches, I got a second opinion, then ended up back at Dr. Kelly's for another 30 minute pre-op appointment to finalize our approach. The combo of Dr. Kelly with PA Amber make a great care team to relieve your pain and start living your life again.

Dr. Kelly was very thorough in his explanation of my condition per the MRI. He took the time to answer all of my questions in a manner easy to understand. I felt Dr. Kelly was young enough to know the newest techniques and options for spinal surgery, yet has practiced long enough to make me comfortable with his surgical experience. He offered a relatively new option to me along with the more established routine treatment. I am thrilled with the results of the surgery he performed.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Kelly?
Dr. Kelly was relentless in evaluating the cause of my pain, eventually finding the needle in a haystack. He spent a great deal of time reviewing the test results with me, made recommendations, and was very clear about the likely outcomes. I felt like I was in control of the final decision, which was important to me. I am now almost three months post-surgery and the result has been great. The pain is gone and I'm able to do things I haven't been able to do in several years.

My experience with Dr. Kelly was negative. He was abrupt during my appointments, he had no follow-up with me on the hospital or after tests he ordered until I called and complained. Even then he was short and dismissive of my medical needs. I would not recommend Dr. Kelly to anyone!
