I was referred to Dr. Barnes for urinary incontinence. She was very nice and professional at the time of my first visit She did 2 surgeries on the InterStim device, Stage I & Stage II. I had some concerns about the device & how it was working & did not receive any support from her nurses or the people at Medtronics when I called the customer support number. I had my follow up exam 50 days later & she was very cold and disrespectful. She rushed into my exam room I was put in, having just came out of surgery. Asked me questions about how the device was working and any concerns that I had. I voiced my concerns and asked if these things were normal things I was experiencing from the device. For instance that both of my feet were constantly vibrating and that there was a constant rhythmic tapping in both ankles & if this was normal. Her response was "just turn off the device if you don't like it, just turn it off then." She then got up and left the room.

Too busy to care for patients. She come flying and spend two minutes and be gone. Only at the office one or two days a week and teaches the rest of the week, hard to communicate with. Father had bladder cancer for almost a year, he was never told nor was I. Reports in his file clearly state the cancer and advise to follow up, she was more concerned with his prostate saying it was enlarged just to push the new rezum procedure which failed the first time. He never recovered and died.

I was in the exam room for almost 45 minutes before she came in. She was rushed and cold. I have been depressed about my urinary issues, to the point of tears. She spent maybe 5 minutes with me and didn’t give me time to ask questions before hurrying off. Her resident had MUCH better bedside manner. I’ve been around lots of doctors and never treated like this. She may be competent but no way would I let her do surgery on me if it comes to that. I prefer my doctors care just a little.

As a male, I was a little apprehensive about seeing a female for urinary problems. After my first visit with Dr. Barnes, I was at ease and felt the choice was right. She spends time explaining all of the options, and what the issues are that I was dealing with. She gave me several options, and let me decide what made the most sense for me. A definite 5 star doctor. I feel like I made the best choice for me, and that I am in good hands. Thank you Dr. Barnes!

I visited Dr. Barnes after a frustrating experience with another urology provider. She was prompt, courteous, approachable and listened when I spoke. The appointment was set up in a way that minimized any discomfort I might have had and she did a thorough, comprehensive exam. I appreciated how she had reviewed my medical history prior to arrival and the treatment I received felt tailored to my situation/concerns. Relieved to find such a wonderful doctor!
