Bad doctor and bad staff
I recently go to Dr. Mai’s office, and it was a bad experience. First, the front desk girl was not good at all. She was more interested in talking to her friends than helping me. She lost my paperwork two times in five minutes and did not care at all. It was very frustrating to deal with her. Also, my appointment was for 10 a.m., but I had to wait until 11:15 a.m. before I saw the doctor. When I finally saw Dr., the experience was also bad. The doctor seemed in a hurry and did not listen well. The consultation was very short, and the diagnosis was unclear. The instructions were confusing, and I felt like my visit did not matter to him.Office is very poorly managed. The staff is all not competent, and it is very frustrating to deal with them. If you want good care and respect for your time, I suggest you find another place to go. This office is a big waste of time and energy.

Mai
Suffering blood pressure very low but heart rate is very high. Made an appointment to see the guy named Kevin Mai at his office where he is practicing his medical doctor licence. I told him my symptom and gave him the paper that I recorded every numbers when I have taken on blood pressure monitor for over a week. He looked at my paper really quick and prescripted me. I checked up the prescription online and I found it used to give some one who has high blood pressure and heart rate. Made a phone call to his office again. A reception or maybe a nurse there asked me to come over to see that guy again. I made an appointment to see a cardiologist. I show him the medication of Kevin Mai. The cardiologist said Kevin Mai did not give me a proper medication. Now, I have no idea about this guy Kevin Mai! Many medical practicing doctors do not care the patients. You have to be careful to see such a doctor like this.

Dr. Mai is one of the best primary care doctors and one of the funniest men I have met. He cares for his patients, but he does not try to be too serious because he knows they are anxious about their symptoms. I got diagnosed with breast cancer, but he helped me get through my treatment patiently. Sometimes he tries to be sarcastic to break the ice, not that he likes to make fun of other people. Overall, I am glad that my insurance picked him for me 4 years ago and still counting. Thank you, dr. Mai!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND Dr. Kelvin Mai to anybody – unless you want to die painfully. He has 2 locations: Fairview in Santa Ana, CA & Brookhurst in Garden Grove, CA). I was a patient w/Dr. Mai & decided to part ways w/him because he didn’t offer multiple options for my condition; he only gave me 1 option that he believes in & wouldn’t offer anything else (no exceptions), even though I try to ask. He doesn’t believe in me doing my own research etc. IT’S ONLY HIS WAY OR THE HIGHWAY. When Dr. Mai was still in the mindset that I was going through the treatments he told me to do he was very nice & caring towards me & would always see me. After knowing, he stopped caring about me, talking to me, or seeing me; he brushes me aside & treats me as if I’m a NOBODY. I remembered asking him for medications to help me. He did not give me all that I asked for & told me that that is all of the medications he was willing to give me, and if I get worse, I should go to the hospital or die.
