I wish I could still see her for check-ups.
She saved the sight in one of my eyes after a traumatic experience in a previous surgery by someone else.Calm, creative and professional. She moved on to a different location.I still would like to have her as my preferred eye doctor.

I chose Dr. Macaluso because I have keratoconus and needed a cataract removed. The procedure was performed at TMC in Lee's Summit. She was arriving, the lense she needed wasn't available so she used what was there. I was awake and listened during the procedure. After the procedure, she met me outside the room and told me she thought it was the wrong lense but we could replace it if it didn't work. Getting glasses was a nightmare, she paid for all the failed glass lenses and in the end, I have a very magnified prescription in that eye. I needed a perfectionist and that was not what I found in her. Six months after the procedure she said we could redo the lense implant, but there are risks or we could do a corneal transplant. I am sorry but replacing a lense and offering a corneal transplant is not my idea of doing it right the first time. Never again, beware.

She didn’t take time to answer our concerns or explain future treatment plan. She twice left the room as we were asking questions about vision improvement, without acknowledgement of the question.

She is very professional and thorough. Dr Macaluso did my cornea transplant’s on both eyes. I have been going to this group for many years. The office staff is always friendly and usually get you in and out in a timely manner. I have been to every office they have in the Kansas City area.

On my journey to regain the sight in my left eye I encountered some quite difficult setbacks that threatened all that I was striving for. After seeing Dr. Pikey, he referred me to Dr. Macaluso as to the degreee of seriousness of my condition. Through three in-depth surgeries to repair damage and including a cornea transplant. She succeeded in restoring my sight. Highly professional, caring, compassionate, informative, trustworthy! She accommodated my needs as a priority. Thank you so much Katie!

I read the reviews about Katie Macaluso and felt she was a good choice in my insurance provider network which said she was taking new patients and had open enrollment. Upon calling the office to schedule an appointment I was told I had to visit another doctor and they would have to refer me to her. After being told I could not see her I asked how the lady on the phone could she help. She showed no emotion or empathy and told me nothing. This is SABATES EYE CENTER. I won't be calling them.
