Recent new patient
I was a new patient. Not online did they not take a comprehensive health history (not even a little), but I waited for over an hour. She had little to know concern for my well being. Asked a few personal questions, but when it came to me trying to advocate for issues and concerns I had for my well being, she was completely dismissive. She showed no concern and brushed me aside completely. She did not take any interest in my sexual health or comfort. It seemed like I was just preventing her from doing better things. As a new patient, I felt it was a very poor experience and I will not be returning.

I saw her two years ago because I wanted my tubes tied. I got sick and moved and could never schedule the surgery (my fault, not hers). I now have a huge cyst that needs to be removed. She refused to do the surgery because it was a pain to schedule the last one (which was for a different procedure, but OK). I travel a lot and she advised me to have surgery when I settle into the next city. BUT my parents live in Cincinnati and can take care of me post operation...and I will be in CIncinnati all summer. I think the subtext was this: Hewitt thought I was a liability and (having been sued at least once in the past), she did not want to take me as a patient. She also seemed to question my lifestyle choices, career, and reproductive history. Just as well. I would like to have a fellow feminist and reproductive rights activist operate on me. A strange experience. She didn't charge me for the visit since she refused to take me as a patient. That was nice. I'll give her that much.

Dr. Hewitt is conscientious and thorough without "over doctoring". She'll spend the necessary time to explain procedures and conditions. She always gives you all the facts so you can make the decision for which you are most comfortable. The wait time can sometimes be a bit long, but that's my only criticism.

I have been seeing Dr. Hewitt for 19 years, and she is fantastic! She, quite literally, saved my life (and my sanity) when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and a massive abdominal cyst at the same time. Dr. Hewitt contacted the best breast surgeon in Cincinnati on my behalf, and coordinated the surgeries so that they could be done piggy-back, requiring just a single hospitalization. I am eternally grateful to her for stepping up when I was falling apart.
