Dr. Anuja Gupta, MD

Within the first 10 minutes of my appointment (mind you I am 7.5 weeks pregnant with baby #4) she asked me what my plan was for “sterilization” after this pregnancy. Interesting word choice.

Dr Gupta was very gentle with her exam, I didn’t feel much during my smear. She informed me at each step what to expect. She is very knowledgeable and answered all my questions patiently.

My visit was Dr. Gupta was awful. It was the first time I'd seen her and I'm trying to find a new OB. I advocated for myself and my baby and felt completely disrespected. I was open to discussing things with her, but she just shut down. I felt like in her eyes, I'm a stupid patient who has no right to have an opinion about MY OWN healthcare and that she knows better. I understand she earned a degree, but it was just the way she treated me. Ugh. I've had a great experience at UC Health Women's Center so far in my pregnancy, but Dr. Gupta was awful.

She was mean, inattentive and lied to me. I was told I was having a miscarriage and she claimed I wasn’t and was only 6 weeks along and when I tried to ask questions or her answers she blew me off and told me to wait. When I waited to long and needed an emergency D&C she acted annoyed that I came to the ER and tried to send me home. She has no bedside manners and I don’t know how she is still employed.

At 36 +6 weeks pregnant the other doctors were willing to check for dialation along with measuring my belly for uterine growth. she is very friendly but didn't come closer than 4 ft and just read test results off her laptop. when inquiring about other tests that I had to take for the past month she made no indication or order to continue them.

I'm a pretty tough cookie, so when I tell you that she shoved the speculum in so hard that it took my breath away, you should know that "excessive force" was used. When I gasped, she apologized, but I was surprised that something like this would even happen. She was friendly enough for the rest of the visit, but I asked a question on MyChart about a week ago and haven't heard anything. Her schedule was wide open vs. other Drs in the practice. Perhaps that should have been my warning sign???

Dr Gupta is a very conscientious physician. She takes time to talk and explain. I have never found her pushy towards any treatment and makes you comfortable choosing one over the other. will highly recommend.

Loves the wait and see approach even if you are suffering and want to be proactive about your health. I found my experience with this physician to be very frustrating; she is not proactive at all. It is my opinion that her lack of action towards patients symptoms will result in her patients suffering through increased pain, extended periods of being unwell, delayed diagnosis, delayed treatment and possible risk of wellbeing of patients. Too bad because the office staff are very nice.
