Dr. Karin Moorma, MD

I was a patient here for about 5 years. My first appointment with Dr. Moorma was not at all what I hoped for it to be. She ruffle straight to the point and very condescending.

First off I had to wait for 45 min even though I arrived on time and was in a lot of uterine pain (not pregnant but going through perimenopause and hormonal changes) and was looking for help. The staff taking vitals was oblivious to what she was doing. I will give her the benefit of the doubt. However, I agree with other reviews about Doctor’s lack of empathy. She wrote me the pelvic US, which was abnormal, but she never responded to help me understand the interpretation. I left a message to the staff to give me some feedback. While I am still in pain & unsure of what the plan is, I will be looking for help elsewhere.

Dr. Moorma has a very brusque bedside manner. She didn't exude any warmth at all and was very condescending. An example: when I told her I wanted to stop using hormonal birth control because I thought it was dampening my libido, she suggested that I "date" my husband more, and then told me that if I was using condoms for contraception, that I needed to use them every time because "they aren't effective if they're sitting in a drawer". It would have been great to have a conversation about what could be causing this problem and some medical and non-medical suggestions to help. Instead, I got talked to like I'm an idiot. She also gave the most painful pap tests I've ever had. That combination of physical discomfort and lack of personal warmth gave me so much anxiety about appointments that my blood pressure spiked when I'd go. On my last visit, she seemed angry with me that my blood pressure was so high, as if it was something I was in control of.

I have been a patient of Dr. Moorma since the early 1990s. She's always professional and always ready to listen. In 2000, she performed my hysterectomy. She explained all about the surgery to me before we decided that would be my best option. I recommend her to all my friends.

I love her she is straight to the point and very knowledgeable!

Great doctor! She has delivered 2 of my kids and followed my wishes with everything. She never pressures me which I love and she’s straight to the point.

Have been coming here for 8 years. Office always seemed good and straight to the point. Had been complaining about a specific pain for almost a year decided to get a second opinion and turns out I had to have surgery almost immediately and an ovary removed. Due to the lack of concern from this office. Would not recommend.

I've never felt like such a burden. I didn't even ask all my questions because she made me feel like I was wasting her time. I will never go back, and I don't understand how she has any patients. The only nice thing I have to say is the woman at the front desk was very friendly, that is all.

I gave it 1 more visit before I left a review. I have never and I mean never met a Dr with such a poor bedside manner. I literally just paid $20 to have her ask "what do you need from me?" I then had to push and request input. She also told me that one of my symptoms is not normal EVEN though it is in the top 5 of symptoms and I've seen numerous specialist in my old state who used that symptom as an indictator. BEWARE of not only her RBF but I'm seriously doubting her expertise.
