She feels like a friend
Dr. H takes time and listens to my concerns. She orders only the tests she needs so that I'm not getting over charged for my lab work. She understands my thyroid conditions and colors up regularly to make sure I'm ok. I saw several doctors before her and she has helped more than anyone. I highly recommend her.

1. never saw a doctor only a PA who 'communicated' with the doctor. sorry but if i'm referred to a 'specialist' by my PCP i should see someone who actually has more training than he does. 2. as an RN with a BSN and family history, I knew more about hypothyroidism. find a doctor that can diagnose and treat beyond the basic 'normal' situation. 3. this is a diabetes clinic...its all they seem to care about. i had two meds pushed on me for a a1c that is one point into 'prediabetes', but was refused treatment for thyroid condition when both thyroid hormone levels are low/below normal. 4. my labs were cherry picked for which she felt like treating. barely prediabetes?? two meds. low thyroid hormone levels?? sorry "we don't treat that". treating/dosing on tsh on;y is archaic (btw research low t3/insulin resistance) Cholesterol screen terrible after always being fine: "well that must be a bad draw we'll just ignore that" (research low t3 link to cholesterol levels) disappointing!!!!

After waiting 3 months for an appointment I arrived 2 minutes late. I explained that the roads were very snowy and slippery that is why I was late. The receptionist went around the corner to ask if the doctor would still see me. When she returned she was incredibly rude stating the doctor could not see me. I explained I waited 3 months and I could not drive safely, she replied that is why they ask you to be 15 early, and if I needed to see the doctor I would have been on time. Then she proceeded to ask me if I wanted to reschedule, and I could not get in for another two months. NO THANK YOU! I will have my doctor refer me to Ann Arbor!

I do not recommend this practice period. Has little to do with Dr. H. more to do with staff. Scheduling is impossible, staff are always rude, never had a nice staff member. Do not follow through with lab results even if another Dr. calls her with concerns (twice). This is no kind of Dr. I literally am treated better by my dogs vet. Patient beware!!

Cancelled an appt on me after months of waiting, and refused to see me 4 months later when I was 10 mins late in a snow storm, even though we still had 20 mins left. Couldn't get in with her for 6 more months. She should not be accepting new patients. In the meantime she over-prescribed a medication putting me at clinically toxic levels. DId not review prior tests. Treats patients terribly and is a terrible doctor. Avoid.

I've been going to Dr. Hoisington for several years. I'd been living with horrible thyroid problems since an RAI done by a terrible doctor years earlier. My primary care doctor wasn't any better at dealing with it but wouldn't refer me. Dr. Hoisington self-referred me when I was in the exam room with my mother (the patient). I'm finally starting to feel better. More energy, less brain fog, etc, She really listens and works on adjusting things to get best results. So glad I found her!

Dr. Hoisington conducts little discussion about your situation, and spends the bulk of her time with you sharing inane stories of other patients or things outside the office. I usually wait for about 50-60 minutes to be seen, and then have no discussion about my actual situation. Additionally, I have regularly had mistakes with my prescription dosage, and I have verified that it was not the pharmacy's fault. I thought things would get better in her new office, but they have only continued.
