Dr. Julio Chong, MD

Dr. Chong was McMedicine at it’s finest. Hurried, uninterested and dismissive.I had a couple of high PSA tests and made an appointment. He told me that given the results I would need a biopsy. I requested we do an MRI first to help guide the biopsy. He was dismissive of my request and threw me under the bus in the appointment notes. My insurance loved it. They denied the MRI and I had to dispute it with the insurance company and threaten to report them to the state. Dr. Chong could not get out of the room fast enough. I think he spent a total, of 9 minutes with me. Did not cover why or how the biopsy was important, just he knew best and don’t question his big brain. Must have had a tee time.

I felt like I got very good care. Dr. Chong explained everything at every step, and answered my questions to my satisfaction. I never felt rushed or like I was bothering him as others have said. My issue was resolved successfully, and another minor issue I did not know I had was found and easily treated. I had three appointments, and for each, I checked in online and basically just had to tell them I was there when I arrived, and I never waited very long. In fact, once I was taken back early, and was done and leaving just a couple minutes after the original appointment time.

I was sent to get blood work at specific but inconvenient times.Twice my draw orders were not in and I had to wait hours to get the orders from the doctors office and sent away one time because they could not get them from the office.I also called twice in one day after I was sent away and they still did not get then sent over.I am waiting to get the orders sent over now as I write this review.Very ineffective and unprofessional proseedures.This has been very frustrating and a drain on my time and work schedule!

Had a good experience in the office. Dr. Chong explained my medical condition well and took time to answer all my questions.

Similar experience as Christina. He just talked most of the time, and rushed me for answers whenever he’d ask a question. He wouldn’t let me share my concerns at all. Didn’t make me feel comfortable, made me feel more like I was wasting his time if I didn’t agree with what he said. He also pressured me into proceeding with an operation that I was unsure about. I asked if there were any other options and he said that there was no other options. Gave me less than a week to think about it and had me scheduled as soon as the next week. After the operation, upon doing some research, turns out there were other routes that I could’ve taken instead of doing the operation. He made me feel as though the operation was the only option. It’s too late now, as the operation is irreversible. I’m left drowning in severe hospital bills and regret as he also didn’t explain how costly the operation would be. Looking back at it now, it’s clear that all he cared about was money. Don’t make the same mistake that I did and find a urologist who’ll actually care for you both financially and physically.

Very informative to my problem & explained corrective procedures for me to understand. Put my mind at ease.

Dr Chong was the only doctor willing to work with me due to the fact that I am a high risk patient. His surgeries on both kidneys literally saved my life. He is incredibly intelligent . He explains everything so clearly and answered all my questions. He is the best!!

I had a large (3cm) kidney stone. Dr. Chong fully explained to me. The procedure, and after effects of removing the stone. Everything he told me would happen, did. I'm very pleased with Dr. Chong, and would definitely recommend him as Urologist. He'll take good care of you.

Excellent care was provided by Dr. Chong and his staff, both in the hospital and with a follow-up visit after PCNL surgery for a staghorn kidney stone. A previous urologist recommended surgery with a minimum 7 day hospital stay if everything went normal. Dr. Chong’s procedure was performed as day surgery and I was able to return home and start recuperating the same day. I highly recommend this urologist if you have kidney related stones.
