NOT BOARD CERTIFIED
I found Dr Quillin a very charming doctor. He took time to answer my concerns and was initially very pleased with him. I accidentally found out my neck needed to be fused which is quite scary. I have had some surgeries in the past that did not go well so needless to say I was very apprehensive. Dr Quillin said all the right things BUT I wanted the best doctor. I thought it was going to be Dr Quillin. So I did further research and found he did not go the extra mile for whatever reason to get BOARD CERTIFIED even tho his staff kept saying he was. The state of Texas says he’s not. That any doctor went that extra mile to get BOARD CERTIFIED should mean everything to surgery patients. I have two other doctors in the family and neither could find where Dr Quiillin was a BOARD CERTIFIED NEUROSURGEON

Great Surgeon!
Dr. Quillin is outstanding. I had Covid 19 so bad that I could barely stand in the shower. I had to start taking baths instead, and one day as I was getting out, I fainted and fell against the wall and onto the floor. I was rushed to the hospital, and the result of the fall was a severely compressed upper spinal cord. Dr. Quillin performed emergency surgery to literally 'save my life.' I kind of doubted that he did at first, but after seeing the X-rays post surgery, my compressed spinal cord looked like a thread. Thank You Dr. Quillin! After 8 months in a wheelchair, I am back on my feet! ( :

What a great visit
He was prepared and explained what he seen in my mri so well I didn’t have many questions. I also felt welcomed in his office. . Although my condition doesn’t require surgery, I felt in the most capable hands if needed. I will recommend family and friends to visit him if any need arise. Felt he was very truthful in some advice he gave me so I wouldn’t fall victim to unnecessary medical procedures. Thanks!

Unprofessional Office
My first schedule visit was a nightmare with the unprofessional staff. I had received a text message the day before my appointment, that I needed to complete paper work on the mychart application. I did not receive an invite or link to complete the paper work. So, I notified the office immediately. The person in scheduling took the information and said they would sent to the fron desk to get that resolved. Since my appointment was early in the morning, I left for the office an hour before my appointment, normal drive time 25 minutes. Never heard back from the Dr Office. Traffic was horrible that morning, and it took almost 50 minutes to travel to the office. I still arrived before my appointment by a few minutes, the office and Dr refused to see me because there was no time to complete the paper work, even though it was there fault not sending the MyChart Link, or calling me back. I understand that Dr's have schedules, but I also had to take off of work, I followed up.

He wasn't professional
He wasn't professional, he was unfriendly and was rude. As a patient, I have the right to ask any question before I do the surgery, but he didn't like my questions. I ended up going to another hospital.

I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Joseph Quillin and the Texas Health Neurosurgery and Spine Specialist’s staff. My entire experience, from the moment I walked in, was fantastic. The staff was friendly and efficient, and Dr. Quillin was not only knowledgeable but also took the time to address all my questions and concerns prior to my craniotomy on 10/18/2023. Dr. Quillin did a phenomenal job on my craniotomy. My family and I are so blessed to have had him as my neurosurgeon. He was able to remove all the tumor and the dissolvable sutures were definitely appreciated. If you are looking for a neurosurgeon, Dr. Quillin is your guy.

Excellent doctor
This man is a true professional and knows how to be successful in his area of expertise, That said, he is also a patient, compassionate, caring doctor who doesn’t mind taking the time to make a patient comfortable. My surgery with him was Monday, April 10, 2023. His follow uo care and availability was excellent. This 65 year old grandmother highly recommends Dr Q.

I originally sought treatment for what I thought was a back-related problem only to be diagnosed with a fairly large brain tumor (I hadn't experienced any headaches). The timeline between diagnosis and surgery was a mere 4 days which added to the surrealness of it all. However, like anyone facing a serious, life altering and even life threatening procedure, my #1 concern was the competence of the surgeon. From my initial meeting, Dr. Quillin's demeanor and confidence put my fears to rest. His manner is straightforward and he has the ability to explain complex subjects in layman's terms without dumbing it down, which is an art form that should not be underestimated. Fast forward to 7 weeks post-op and I'm grateful to be well on the road to recovery. I truly believe the success and progress I have experienced began with the skill with which the surgery was performed. I unequivocally recommend Dr. Quillin to anyone seeking medical care for any neurological issue.

A Skilled Surgeon
Dr Quillin performed emergency brain surgery on my sister. He gave us the time we needed to ask questions before and after. He was candid, kind, and calming. We are lucky that he was on call that night.
