Dr. Litam was known by my family for his care for 2 family friends. Then my family doctor and surgeon recommended him also. I knew he had to be the oncologist for me. He has been a wonderful doctor.

Unfortunately the visits are not very good. At times the front lady seems to always be mad when asked questions. Dr . Litam does not really se compassionate for his patients. One person tells my mom she is covered thru insurance for her visits and other staff tell her the opposite. It seems that the office does not communicate with each other. I would not recommend to anyone

I have had major issues with Texas Oncology McAllen since I started there 2 years ago. The biggest one being lost medical records. My last visit with Dr. Litam left me feeling like crap and I went out to my car and cried! I told him that I had consulted with other doctors about my possible future plans with a double mastectomy and that Dr had recommended I do an MRI since I am high risk for reoccurrence. He told me he would have never suggested that until I had a mammogram that was abnormal. I should be doing MRI/mammograms every 6 months based on the NCCN guidelines for my situation. So, because I went ahead and took charge of MY health and did and will continue doing additional preventive tests he made me feel like I was in the wrong because it wasn't something he would have done... Not the way it should work. I will be looking for a different oncologist. Dr Litam may be a good fit for some people, but not for me.

Dr, Litam was very thorough and compassionate in explaining my newly identified cancer and the upcoming plan and treatment. On the two occasions I have been at Texas Oncology, staff is always kin and compassionate. A new diagnosis of cancer is frightening, but after my visits to the center, I know that I am in good hands.
