Dr. Joseph Adel, MD

Dr. Adel caught a misdiagnosed MRI & MRA. I knew nothing about Dr. Adel initially but when sitting in his waiting room two patients gave me their testimony about him which is why I’m writing this review. Their testimony helped set me at ease, now after meeting him and his team and having surgery I couldn’t recommend him enough. He was extremely calm but clear what was going to happen and about my recovery and he was spot on. The care I received a St Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw was exceptional, each nurse genuinely cared and it showed. I’m not one to write reviews but this one was warranted. Thank you Dr. Adel. Dr Adel repaired my ruptured anyurism on 11-26-17. After this emergency surgery I spent only two weeks in the hospital and have had no issues at all. After 4 yearly exams he has just performed an angiogram for this 5th exam. He wanted a more thorough view of the vessels. The procedure is a bit uncomfortable but short lived and well worth it to be able to 'see' any problem areas. Dr Adel is very professional, has a great bedside manner, and I would recommend him to anyone.

I had a brain bleed in my right cerebellum. He performed brain surgery on me on 4/25/22. I probably wouldn’t be alive without him performing it. He’s an incredible neurosurgeon and I’d highly recommend him to anyone ever in that position. I was trying to look up the name of the nurse practitioner that worked with him and I couldn’t find it. She also helped tremendously! Her kindness, knowledge, and patience do not go unnoticed ??

Very competent and well versed in his field. I have had a coil in my brain for 13 years and when he came on board to Dr. Field’s office he has taken over monitoring it on a yearly basis. Recently something did not look right on CT scan so he did an angiogram to check it out - everything was okay but he took the time to do test and checked it out.

I went blind one night. In the ER they did a CT scan. Although it had nothing to do with losing my vision, a brain tumor was found. A friend of mine recommended Dr. Adel. I did research and he sounded like someone I could trust. I ended up having surgery to remove the tumor. Dr. Adel was upfront, honest, and laid my options out for me. My surgery was 2016. It is now 2021. I have not had any problems, although Dr. Adel's team schedules me for a check-up every year as a preventative. Dr. Adel is a calm, intelligent man who has never rushed me but has taken the time to answer any questions. He and his staff are friendly and eager to help. Not only WOULD I recommend Dr. Adel, but I HAVE! My friends were as impressed with their care as I was with mine!

Went in for second opinion - this Dr. explained things I didn't even know to ask. Very caring and concerned.

My family and I are truly grateful that Dr. Adel was at hospital when I suffered an unexpected brain aneurysm. He is a wonderful Doctor, listens to all concerns and answers all questions. He has a good bedside manner - and a sense of humor. Anyone needing a neurosurgeon would be very lucky to have Dr. Adel.

He takes the time to make sure you are FULLY informed & comfortable with the treatment plan. His staff are all courteous and informative as well.

i had a non malignant brain tumor lucky for all of us the surgery only took four hrs even though he scheduled the operating room for sixteen hrs just in case he ran into trouble. Im home recovering doing good and expecting a full recovery. I would recommend Dr Adel to other patients. He has my full trust, excellent surgeon
