Dr. John Homan, MD

I went in to see Dr. Homan to have some bloodwork done because I took a blood test at a Hoag Urgent Care because I had pains in my stomach and my leg. The urgent care sent me my blood test results which showed that my numbers were extremely abnormally high. I went to Dr Homan to have them checked again. Dr Homan could not even sit down or listen to one single word I had to say regarding why I was there to see him. He left out the door mid sentence when I was talking. He did this Every single time I came back to see him. I needed him to test my blood again due to the high numbers. I was at very high risk of having blood clots. I had to go tell the nurse i needed a blood test taken. She took the test and told me she would send me the results in 2 days. It has been over a week since I was tested now, and no results have been sent to me Still! I have sent 4 emails to Dr Homan, with Zero Response at all. WHY DO A BLOOD PANEL ON A PATIENT WHEN U R TOO LAZY TO SEND IN TO LAB???

I'm a health insurance broker and I'm very impressed with Dr. Homan's expertise in all areas as a PCP. My boyfriend made a mistake that cost him a year of unnecessary pain and suffering. Jim saw the wrong type of specialist and was given the wrong treatment plan for his condition. Dr. Homan has him on the right track for a full recovery. He is an excellent choice if you're looking for a great PCP!

I have been seeing Dr. John Homan for 20 years. Having developed issues from both the intensity of my work, combined with the demands (and yet privilege) of being primary care giver for my terminally ill father, he got me through it with kindness, compassion, patience in explaining the issues and how to address them. I read a previous review, (of a negative nature), and am convinced that the individual who wrote it, in my opinion only, is nothing more than a disgruntled, nominally sentient, sophomoric individual needing someone to blame for their own lack of willingness to take responsibility and cooperate in their own healthcare.

Dr. Holman is an excellent ... very caring, conscientious, and has even met me after hours in his office. He has an excellent office support staff.

Dr Holman is the best Doctor that I have experienced in my 30 years of living in Newport Beach. Every time a friend of mine wants to recommend a doctor and I tell them mine is Doctor Homan, they start laughing because he is their doctor to recommend, too!

Dr. John Homan is the most knowledgeable Physician I have ever been to. He has saved my life at several instances. His staff is great too especially patty. Thanks so much to you all.

Dr. Homan is prescribing patients medication that he knows nothing about. He should stick to general practice and stop pretending he is a psych doctor. He is putting his patients and their families in a horrible and dangerous situation. He can't be trusted and plays both sides, telling the families one story and his patients the other. Imagine having to deal with a mentally ill person on a daily basis and having their doctor carelessly prescribing them the lowest possible dosage of medication.

Dr. Homan should be reviewed by the medical board. He over prescribes the wrong medications without understanding medical history, and misdiagnosis. He is a danger to patients!

I've been going to Dr. Homan now for 12 years. He has always been a great doctor who takes the time to listen to your concerns. I could not recommend a better doctor for anyone else. His staff is awesome as well. They are efficient and organized and know you by name.

Dr. Homan is a rarity these days -- a doctor who takes an interest in his patients. Since he sets the tone, his staff is equally unusual. As a new patient, I am always surprised at the warmth and interest with which not only Dr. Homan but his whole staff consistently treats me. The staff does not need your birthday or other identifying information if you call or come to the office -- they know not only the patients, but what (from a medical standpoint) is going on in the patients' lives.
