Dr. John Hewett, MD

I had an emergency appointment with Dr. John Joseph Hewitt, MD at Pedes Orange County, and I cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional care I received. From the moment I called to schedule the appointment, their front desk personnel, including Michelle, worked diligently to accommodate me within an hour. Upon arriving at the clinic, I was impressed by now efficiently they handled my paperwork, and I was immediately taken in for an ultrasound.The ultrasound technician, who was incredibly detail-oriented, spent around 30 minutes meticulously recording specific measurements. Soon after, a nurse promptly reviewed the ultrasound results with me, and Dr. Hewitt himself joined us in no time. I was amazed to see that he documented the entire visit on video while thoroughly analyzing the ultrasound and my previous scans. As Dr. Hewitt had many excellent reviews on-line, I made an appointment to see him for varicose veins. I was not informed until after I had undergone an hour & a half long ultrasound that Dr. Hewitt only deals with cosmetic laser vein removal (not covered by insurance). I was actually seen by a Dr. Kolantari who does minimally invasive vein removal (covered by insurance). It was Dr. Kolantari who told me he would be treating me during a 40 minute consultation. He was very nice & seemed competent but I am finding now that he has only 1 on-line review. Following his visit, I was fitted for pneumatic tactile leg cuffs apparently required by MC. Now after going through all the machinations of preparing for the procedure, my visit took approx. 3 hours to complete, I am in a quandary as to whether I should trust Dr. Jalil Kolantari with my care. Was this a bait n switch? In addition, it is very difficult to reach the office. They take days to respond to messages.

We have been seeing Dr. Hewett since January, he is immediate with action when an issue came up with our mother’s PAD (Peripheral artery disease). Her symptoms were increasingly painful and was in Pedes within 24 hours. Their diagnostic was more thorough than anyone she had seen before and the diagnostic showed extraordinary issues that was created from a previous stent that was placed by a previous doctor. They corrected the issue and she has been pain free since. The office was great and they all treated us like family.

I took my mother to Pedes Orange County because of the pain she was in. She was very scared about going so I made sure that I spoke with the staff to get a better feel about the procedure. After I met with Dr. Hewett, I was so impressed with his confidence and professionalism that I was sure my mother would be in perfect hands.

He is very professional. Put me right at ease from the start. He takes the time to explain and is straight to the point.

Dr. Hewett is a very understanding doctor who takes his time with people to help them understand the treatment and their diagnosis to the fullest. I feel completely at ease speaking to him and always leave confident in my treatment plan. Definitely recommend him to anyone, friends and family. If you want to save your extremities, I suggest you pay him a visit and let their office impress you.

I took my mother to see Dr. Hewett earlier this year. Both Dr. Hewett and his staff were so knowledgeable and made my mom feel extremely comfortable. She couldn't be happier with her whole experience...not to mention the after effects of her procedure! Thank you all so very much!!!

Mom and I had such a positive experience with Dr. Hewett and felt he really cared about her vein/artery issues and explained in detail the exam results. We learned a lot during the visit and feel very comfortable with Dr. Hewett and the staff - Janna, Theresa and Crystal. We will definitely recommend Dr. Hewett to our friends and family.
