Dr. John Handal, MD

Over twenty years ago Dr John Handel been working on me to repair the movement of my left arm. First at the Northeast Hospital. Then at Einstein Hospital,I just wanted him to know that my left side is still working well. My granddaughter used to ask question after question, he always took the time to answer her.Her name is Melanee and she has been in the USCG now to 16 years. My name is Hazel Petroski and my injury was caused by my job at the USPS. Dr. Handal made it possible for me to enjoy the life I have been living. My age is up there now but life is good.thank you Dr. John Handel.

He is the most amazing dr. And wonderful person. Without dr. Handal at the age of 13 I would have never been able to walk again but because of him I am now a 34 year old who has played every sport through school and also some semi pro during college as well as being able to just live a mostly normal life. I thank him for my life because I would not have one without him. I just wish he truly knew how much he impacted my life and how much I appreciate him.??

Dr. Handal operated on my Dad's spine 6 months ago to remove a cancerous tumor. Our family really wasn't sure if it was the right thing do at first because of his stage four cancer status and the extreme difficulty involved in removing the tumor from his spine. It was a very tough decision. Dr. Handal helped my father to decide to go forward with the operation. Amazingly, within a month, my father who's 77, was back to his normal activity. My entire family is so grateful not only for Dr. Handal's expertise, but also for the friendly way he personally dealt with us. He was a true blessing at very hard time for us. Thank you so much!

I don't even know where to begin! From the beginning, Dr. Handal has treated me like his own daughter and made sure I got the best of care. He makes himself available to me and my family in case we have any questions. He doesn't just advise you on what's best in the moment, but for the overall long hall. He and his staff genuinely care and make you feel valued as a patient. I feel so lucky to have had my care in his hands! He really "had my back"!

I cannot tell you how impressed I have been with Dr. Handal's surgical competency, matter of fact style of communication, bedside manner, and the team he has surrounded himself with as orthopedic residents. The outcome of my surgery was extraordinary, there were no complications, and the entire team at Einstein made me feel confident they were paying attention to the details. I had received a second opinion from the top physician at the Rothman Institute, but stillwent to Einstein.
