Horrible Experience
I had a stroke and was admitted to the hospital. I was referred to Dr. Short for follow up. I met with his assistant who was very nice and professional. She scheduled me for an angiogram. I explained my fear of hospitals and even just injections. She advised I would not remember the procedure & they can give additional meds while I'm on the table if I'm still nervous. While on the table, I kept telling them I'm not sedated. I was wide awake. I asked them to stop the procedure. He advised they would restrain me if I kept this up. The nurse said she could give me more medicine. He told her NO and to stay where she was. I suffered through 15 minutes of torture completely aware of every second. While in recovery, I asked for a pain pill as I had recently had back surgery and lying flat was causing a lot of pain. They gave me an Ibuprofen. To this day, I remember everything. Dr. Short has guaranteed that I WILL NEVER allow an angiogram to be performed on me again by ANYONE.

Dr Short is compassionate and has great character. He is clinically excellent and extremely personal in the office and in the Interventional Radiology lab. He evaluated my situation and took immediate action to set up intervention to eliminate any guess work about the problem. He was considerate of my need to get back to work ASAP following an extended period of disability unrelated to this problem and put my needs at the top of his to do list. This gentleman is exceptional in many ways.
