Dr. Leidenfrost performed my aortic valve replacement surgery and cardiac maze procedure on April 1st, 2024. He and his entire team were outstanding throughout the entire process, starting with my initial consultation, major surgery, recovery and follow-up. I started developing symptoms of heart failure that rapidly progressed while I was living in FL. Because of Dr. Leidenfrost and St. Luke's reputation, I decided to come back home for a 2nd opinion and consultation. This turned out to be one of the very best decisions I've ever made in my life. Surgery was absolutely necessary and ultimately has given me a 2nd chance at life. I am extremely appreciative and thankful for Dr. Leidenfrost and the entire team at St. Luke's Hospital. The support and care I received was top-notch!

Dr. Leidenfrost replaced my Aortic and Mitral Valves and repaired my Afib 0n April 17th 3 months later I am Fully Recovered!

Everything went on schedule and was able to leave hospital in 4 days. Minimal pain and communication was great.

Dr Leidenfrost performed a triple bypass on my husband. It was a scary procedure but I felt he was in very capable hands the entire time. It takes a well-coordinated, caring & talented team to successfully pull off a complex surgery & that’s exactly what dr Leidenfrost has assembled. From the start, he explained the details of the procedure as well as the recovery. The procedure nurses were just as thorough & patient. The ICU nurses were also extremely competent, with a 1:1 patient ratio. When we left the hospital, we had numbers to call where nurses (or the doc) could be reached for questions at ANY time. It was very reassuring as there were many incisions & many new medications. Dr Leidenfrost really is at the top of his game. My husband’s post op pain was minimized & healing was faster because of his closing technique. St Luke’s is also to be commended for providing an excellent facility. I don’t much want heart surgery but I know where I’d go if I needed it!

I had a triple bypass by Dr. Liedenfrost at St. Lukes Hospital four (4) weeks ago, and he and his team did an exceptional job! He was very good at explaining what he would be doing, how the procedure would go, and what the recovery would be like. I was very confident he would go a great job - which he did! I had the procedure on a Thursday morning, by Friday morning they had me up and walking around, and by Sunday (3 days later) they sent me home. I only needed pain medications through Saturday (2 days after surgery) and I haven't needed anything since. He and his staff have also been very attentive since the surgery to make sure I was recovering well. My recovery has been very steady, and I have gotten stronger every day. I am currently walking more than 5 miles per day, and feeling great. I would strongly recommend Dr. Liedenfrost to anyone in need of any type of heart surgery.

I highly recommend St. Lukes Hospital and this cardiac surgeon. Dr. Jeremy Leidenfrost performed a mitral valve repair and I was up and walking painlessly in 24 hours. I continued to progress for the next 3 days and was discharged home on day 4. I had little to no pain with this surgery. He used rigid sternal fixation which reduced the pain. Dr. Leidenfrost was kind, empathetic and a true professional.

I recently had open heart surgery at St. Luke's in St. Louis and I definitely feel that Dr. Jeremy Leidenfrost is absolutely the best! He is everything you would want in a CV surgeon. He is compassionate, good at explaining everything, available, highly skilled and experienced, and very respected by his peers. In addition, the whole experience at St. Luke's was excellent. Every staff member from office visits to pre-op through the ICU to the Step Down unit was professional, knowledgeable, and skilled. The whole system at St. Luke's is set up for CV patients to have an excellent experience every step of the way. Care was very personalized to my needs. I really don't have enough words to say how wonderful the experience was and how grateful I am to everyone.

Was very scared about having open heart surgery. Was reassured by Doc. Leidenfrost that everything would be just fine. He was right! Everything went good and had very minimal pain after surgery. Great guy who was easy to talk to and explained everything well and answered all questions. Would recommend him and his staff to anyone.

Work as firemedic and developed Afib related to a mitral valve regurge. Doctor Leidenfrost repaired my valve and performed a Maze procedure to stop my Afib. Everything went so well I was able to return to work!

I feel like the lord blessed Dr. Leidenfrost to do this surgery to save my life. He didn't treat me like a stranger, but instead treated me like family and was very kind. If there can really be a “great bypass”, mine was it. On schedule, met all expectations of what I was told. Constant attention throughout ICU & Step-down! What more can there be? .

OK, I know I haven't gone to every heart surgeon but I have talked to several through the years and I can tell you that Dr. Jeremy Leidenfrost is the best Cardiac Surgeon I have ever met. Caring and kind, and evidently skilled like his father, Dr. Leidenfrost gave me his cell number in case I had any issues and told me to call him. I highly recommend St. Luke's hospital and Dr. Leidenfrost for any of your cardiac issues.

I drove 310 miles round trip. It took over 5 hours. I am glad the distracted doc didn’t have more than a minute, and stood in the doorway. I hope that they only bill the insurance for the 1 min he couldn’t even stay focused for. I would never let a “god complex surgeon” touch me. Too bad I didn’t get around to tell him that my left leg was heavy, throbbing and + homans sign, he walked out 1 min after doing nothing. I got absolutely zero ? Answered. Thanks for your professionalism.

This man is a horrible condescending physician. He is a liar who scheduled a surgery and then refused it all based on misinformation. He was brutal in his assessment and clearly does not want to help a patient who desperately needs surgery according to his original assessment. The Jekyll and Hyde capabilities of this man is unreal. Obviously he was kind and considerate at first… Until he wasn’t. Beware. We would not allow this person to touch a family member ever! I have never seen a healthcare provider treat a patient this way. Not to mention his staff called to schedule “next day surgery immediately” and then refused because… Oops wrong patient… I have literally never witnessed such ineptitude in healthcare in my entire life.

I can't be more pleased with having chose Dr. Leidenfrost to replace my aortic valve and fix my aortic aneurysm. He, along with his team at St. Luke's, were so great, caring, and professional. I had a lot of fears going into surgery and he eased them when I met and interviewed him. The surgery and recovery went exactly as he said it would--I bounced back and recovered very quickly, without complication. If you are considering a heart surgeon in the St. Louis area, you should definitely consider him. I will always be so grateful to him and his team.
