I have NEVER had a more TERRIBLE experience with a doctor in my life and I work in healthcare! I would NEVER recommend Dr Whitaker to anyone that I care about!!! He spent less than 5 minutes with me. He didn't ask me any questions or ask how I was or if I was having any problems. He didn't order any updated xrays or review the ones I had previously with me. He then made me feel dumb when I asked a question about how he was going to cast my hand. I left the office in tears. And because he could care less of me as a human being and didn't really take the time to evaluate my injury, he let me heal for 4 weeks when I should have had surgery immediately. Because of the lack of care Dr Whittaker showed, I had to have a very extensive surgery, 30+weeks of physical therapy and still a finger that I can't fully straighten or bend to make a fist. I will have a lifetime of problems with my dominant hand all because of Dr Whitaker! He has absolutely no people skills and is only about money.

I’ve gotten on here and read the good reviews and I always start with the bad first. Here’s my 2 cents worth. My opinion and yes it’s totally mine. Dr. Whitaker is Flat A!! Amazing. He’s never in my over 12 years of seeing him for multiple different problems ( carpal tunnel both hands, ulner nerve transplant both arms and a total knuckle replacement has he ever sugar coated my conditions. Yes I read your posts how he’s sarcastic etc. etc. He is exactly what I’d think everyone would want when having surgery. He’s not going to Bull#%!| you into a surgery you don’t need he will tell you straight up what’s up and how it’s going to be. He is the BEST at what he does. I’ve had 5 surgeries at his hand and every one has absolutely changed my life for ever. I don’t know what I’d have done without his professional no nonsense approach to his profession. He is the BEST and I hope he doesn’t ever retire. Nn

I came to Dr Whitaker because I recently fell and re-injured my shoulder, and wanted to know what was wrong. Dr Whitaker did not read any of the extensive information I filled out before the appointment, and would not take the time to answer my questions, but found plenty of time to be sarcastic, and disrespectful, and never attempted to fully diagnose my shoulder. He suggested a steroid, then follow up with an MRI a month later, but didn’t have an adequate answer of why not take an MRI to fully diagnose. He was still angry I had not accepted that approach 4 years ago. He was very rude and dismissive, attacking my other doctors and their care plans. He accused me of being a drug addict because I see a pain specialist. I’ve never been treated with so much disrespect, anger, distain, and sarcasm by any other provider in my lifetime. I had never had a doctor attack other doctors and specialties. Someone who hates medicine so much should not be a doctor. He will not ever see me again.

Dr Whitaker did surgery on my hand, and left an initial on my skin. He also advised me at another time that I had cancer under my thumb nail. He wanted to remove my last joint on my thumb. I went to another Dr for second opinion, and it was not cancer. No I would not recommend to anyone for anything.

I arrived a bit early for my appointment which was requested and I waited about an hour and 20 minutes for a 12 minute exam. The entire time of the exam I felt rushed and like he wasn’t paying attention. When he did answer a question his response was very dismissive. Once he told me not to avoid the ocean in an upcoming vacation, when I asked why, he responded with,”go in and you’ll find out.” I felt like I couldn’t ask any questions with out getting this judgmental, sarcastic response or being talked to like I was an annoying little first grader that couldn’t have possibly understood it anyway. If you have a need to see a doctor with any of his specialties, I would advise you to look for someone else; there are plenty, even in the same practice.

I found Dr. Whitaker to be condescending and difficult to communicate with. He was the classic doc who talks down to patients, makes them wait, and is impatient when they ask questions. I would not recommend him.

I was eventually sent to this doctor after being told I had to get out of my job through workers comp. It was very obvious who he worked for after my visit. I left in tears on several occasions. This doctor is very rude and told my nurse in front of me that I acted like the "pain" was killing me and it seemed so mild to him. Well I got news for this doctor. That "pain" that he thought I was making up, was actually Polymyalgia Rhuematica. Yes, I was young but not everyone is a liar! Shame on you!

I would not recommend this Dr. to others anyone and hope he was having a bad day and doesn't treat all of his customers like I was. I was asked to arrive at 8:30 for a 9:00 AM appointment, I was seen at 9:45 for about 2 minutes The exam room I was placed in for this long wait, extremely uncomfortable, the room was Very hot?!! I was referred to this doctor for an elbow scope and I had to pull answers out of him? Will not re-visit this facility. I know less now after my apt than I did before?
