Dr Berend was most personable and very clear in his explanations and suggestions. We appreciated him so much.

Office staff, medical specialists and Dr. Berend were all knowledgeable and helpful during my visit. Surgery plan and recovery options were given clearly and questions answered so I could understand the process. Very satisfied.

I got X-rays, and a visit with Dr. Berend, and a cortisone shot, and I was in and out in an hour.

Dr Berend is awesome. He did a wonderful job on my knee. It feels so good now. I just had my 3 month checkup and my knee is doing great. He makes you feel very comfortable asking questions.

Dr. Berend examined my knee, and went over his interpretation of my X-rays. He suggested a plan to deal with the pain that did not (at least for now) involve surgery. He has excellent communication skills and has a professional yet comforting bedside manner. I highly recommend Dr. Berend for any lower body orthopedic issues you may be facing.

Dr Berend is great! Impressed from the first meeting. Went over X-rays, explained issue and discussed treatment options. Went with a partial knee replacement and scheduled surgery within an acceptable timeframe. I was up and walking Slowly within a couple hours and had an excellent recovery. Recovery is a slow process, days of pain, and discomfort. Once the healing starts, you forget about the bad days. He was recommended by people I trusted, and I will pass his name to anyone needing surgery. If you need the surgery-DO IT! Putting it off will only cause more issues down the road.

I went to see Dr Berend with moderate to severe knee pain. Dr Berend assessed my knee I had X-rays read that day. Showed no problem went to MRI was discovered water on the knee affected fat pad under the knee cap. No surgery required treatment was a steroid shot and PT The sports medicine office I had been referred to ask me if I was willing to have surgery before getting any other information. Had appointment with Dr. Berend on June 4, 2024 to discuss knee replacement surgery. I was promptly greeted at the office in Indianapolis and had x-rays taken. My meeting with Dr. Berend was very informative. He took the time to go over my x-rays and explained the surgical procedure. I felt Dr. Berend had my best interest in mind. He spoke of having compassion for people who suffer with bad knees. Being able to help people live a better and pain free life is his number one priority. I scheduled my knee replacement surgery for next month. I look forward to having the procedure performed by Dr. Berend. I had severe pain in my left knee and was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis. Instead of recommending a more extensive total joint replacement, Dr. Berend offered a new partial knee procedure, enabling more comfort and shorter recovery time.

He’s already done one knee. I’ll get the other one done in a few days. As far as I’m concerned he’s the best in the business. I’m one year out on my first knee replacement. I don’t have any pain. It feels better than it ever has. I’ve referred him to women in the grocery store. A lady at work is having her knee done on the same day June 6. I tell everybody about him. The scar looks amazing. It’s just a little thin line, I can’t say enough about this doctor. He is a master at his craft. I am so thankful I was able to find him on my own and able to read reviews and I was sold.

When I needed knee replacement surgery, I believe that Dr. Berend was the best surgeon I could have had.Two years ago, I was experiencing crippling bone-on-bone pain when walking when I heard an enthusiastic review about Dr. Berend from a neighbor. He could walk down the street with a cane barely two weeks after major knee surgery and was thrilled that he would soon be able to play golf again. This convinced me to overcome my fears of surgery and to decide to have the procedure now that I knew which surgeon I would request.Luckily, my wish was granted and Dr. Berend performed my operation.From the first appointment trough the surgery and the follow-ups, everything went very smoothly thanks, in part, to Dr. Berend's excellent staff but, most of all, thanks to his superb orthopedic skills, his kindness toward his patients, his ability to reassure and give them honest and clear information.The result: I can now walk normally, without any pain!

Dr. Berend is always kind, patient, honest and explains things in a way that you understand. He has done both of my hips and both of my knees and all are working just fine and pain free. As you can see, I trust him implicitly for all m orthopedic needs.

I have been a nurse for 47 years and have never met a more personable doctor. Physician, PA, X-ray technicians, nurses and front desk staff were efficient, professional, and friendly. Best experience I have ever had.
