Absolutely Best Ophthalmologist in San Antonio
Dr. Holt has been my ophthalmologist for 22 years. She is absolutely the very best eye surgeon I have ever had. I have diabetes, heart disease, and Multiple Sclerosis. Obviously not an easy patient to work with. No matter when I call, Dr. Holt is there for me. In late 1999, I had temporary blindness in one eye. I called Dr. Holt in a panic. Dr. Holt told me to come in to see her immediately. I assume she saw me instead of having lunch.) After many tests and treatments that day, Dr. Holt sent me home. From that day until my sight returned, Dr. Holt literally saw me every other day. I thought I was losing my sight forever, but Dr. Holt held my hand and assured me that my sight would return. She was right, thank G_d. I've been seeing Dr. Holt twice a year ever since then, and whenever necessary, more often. My husband is now her patient as well. As for Dr. Holt's staff, they have always been kind, courteous, and smiling, just like Dr. Holt herself.

I am a physician, and I am quite frankly disgusted with the behavior of Dr. Holt regarding my mother. My mother who is 74 years old, had a cataract surgery with a partner of Dr. Holt. Two days later she developed severe pain in the eye and some loss of vision. Any ophthalmologist will tell you that when a patient Who had cataract surgery Develops pain or cloudy vision in the first few days needs to be Seen and aggressively treated IMMEDIATELY Or the patient can develop blindness in the eye if not attended to as quickly as possible. So when my mother called and spoke with Dr. Holt and told Dr. Holt about her symptoms, and this was around 7 PM so not exactly in the middle of the night, Dr. Holt simply told her it’s nothing to worry about and to just call in the morning. Unfortunately, by that point my mother was blind in the eye. She had to have emergency surgery With a retina specialist immediately, but unfortunately, two different ophthalmologists have now told her that she is BLIND

Sorry I trusted Dr Holt for the last 6 years. She did not listen to me when I told her that I could no longer function (drive, read, etc) due to my cataract but she kept telling me that I was not ready for it to be removed and I would have to wait. I went to a new doctor before Christmas and by the end of January both cataracts were removed and my vision is 100% improved. I only wish that I had not wasted so much time trusting her. Be cautious and listen to your instincts !!

Dr. Holt's business card states that she supports the military but she does not take Tricare Insurance! That is Not Supporting the military, she has no integrity. She is only concerned about which insurance is the better payer.
