The Best
Dr. Banks performed my aneurysm clipping. He was very kind to me and my family during my stay in the ICU and recovery process. I am grateful Dr. Banks was the doctor who performed my 4-hour surgery and believe that he helped to save my life.

Worse Doctor Experience
After months of severe pain and an MRI showing a ruptured disk, he berated my husband for being unemployed, basically indicated he was lazy and even criticized our referring doctor for thinking more could be done than PT and “live with it.” Nurse Lisa was super nice but Dr. Banks was absolutely horrible. We are getting a second opinion.

Dr. Banks was very pleasant and listened to my questions and concerns. He performed surgery on me several years ago and now with a new problem, I am returning. I understand that they may be busier this time around, but the staff is wonderful and I trust the treatment entirely

I was not happy with Dr Banks!! I felt he just wanted me out of his office. He told me surgery was not an option for me but yet radiation was. Thank goodness I went for a 2nd opinion cause radiation is NOT the route to go. The major side effects was enough to say no. The only good thing that came out of my 10 min appt was he showed me where my tumor is. I'm thankful for my ENT who took over my care so I don't have to deal with this Dr again.

Terrible Dr.. I had went to Jason Banks for a whiplash injury after being rear ended by a semi. My 1st visit I asked for a Neck MRI, which he ordered, however, afterwards his nurse "Tank" refused all my requests for a follow up appointment to go over the MRI! Finally, after many calls, and worsening symptoms, Banks agreed to see me one last time( 7 months later) in which he stated my bulging discs in my neck were just from me being middle age, even though I had no neck pain /problems before wreck! Also another DR had seen the MRI and saw I had 2 herniated discs. Then when Banks was walking out the door, he states "For all I know you might get in a wreck leaving here today", like it was somehow my fault a truck with faulty brakes slammed into me! WOW. I later found out "Spine and Nero" has a website where they cater to auto insurance companies to send their patients to them. Dr Banks is a very BIAS Dr.. if you have been injured by someone... BEWARE of DR Banks!

DON'T GO TO DR. BANKS Dr. Banks did posterior cervical laminaplasty on me in 8/2019, initially results were good 'til 2 months, however symptoms began to return. X-rays in November revealed loosening screws at C3, C7 levels not mentioned at all and when I asked (having seen report on patient portal) it was totally dismissed stating hardware was stable. Repeat x-rays done in December stated screws at C3 and C7 were "proud", as if changing the wording wouldn't clue me in to a problem. MRI in Jan. revealed continued compression of the spinal cord Returned on 1/27/20 and Dr. Banks suggested Anterior Cervical Fusion with Diskectomy at C5-6. I had hesitations about single level being a quick fix and being back in this same spot in 6 months again. Dr. Banks said he would view imaging again and get back to us. On 2/4 Dr. Banks had still not gotten back with us. In the meantime, got 2nd opinion at Vandy, suggestion was C3-T2 posterior fusion. Surgery 2/6 showed hardware loosening!

Dr. Banks is great!! On 9/11/18 he performed a laminectomy for stenosis and removed a small benign tumor from another location on my spine. I had been having back pain which got progressively worse and surgery was needed to give me relief. I am happy to say that I have been pain free since the surgery. Dr. Banks was very considerate and took time to explain everything in detail and took the time to answer all my questions. His staff was also OUTSTANDING. I highly recommend Dr. Banks!!!!

Dr. Banks is the best. I had been in tremendous pain for a few years from spinal stenosis, bulging discs, bone spurs, etc. then in Sept 2017, it worsened. I had a herniated disc with bone spur impinging on the spinal cord. He did a spinal fusion on me Oct 26, 2017 from T10-L2. L2-S1 had previously been fused. He joined all the metal together. I woke up with no pain and had no pain until I fell 8 weeks later and broke my C5 and he fused from C3-C7. I trust him with my life Thank God for him!!

Dr Banks is a very talented Doctor, he's stright to the point. If you want to be babied then he is not for you. I'd rather have a doctor that knows what he's doing, and tells me what I need to know with out wasting my time.

Dr. Banks is the best! He really cares for his patients. He explains everything very well and wants to make sure that you know exactly what is going on. Dr. Banks will do anything in his power to make his patients feel better. He has operated on my dad and grandfather and had major success with both surgeries! He is a straight shooter and gets to the point. Dr. Banks will always be my neurosurgeon of choice, he is great. I HIGHLY reccomend Dr. Banks to anyone!

Dr. Banks is great! He does an incredible job of explaining the diagnosis and treatment plans. He is very straight up, and will tell you like it is. He has done surgery on multiple members of my family, and I would reccomend him to anyone. It can be hard to get an appointment sometimes, as with any other neurosurgeon, but Dr. Banks I'd definitely worth the wait! He will do anything in his power to make his patients feel better!
