Dr. Jared Johnson, MD

I had a rotator cuff repair done by Dr. Johnson in October of 2015 and I am in more pain than before the surgery. I did my follow-up a year post op, as required, and seemed to do fine for a year or two. Then the pain slowly increased and I was recommended to try physical therapy, which I completed years ago without results. I would not say my experience was a positive one, based on the results I received from the surgery he performed.

Dr. Johnson was competent, very professional and compassionate. He took care of me, listened to me and was very concerned about my welfare and comfort.But...the best part of this experience was his staff, Josh and Erica especially are the very best at getting things done, making sure patients were fully aware and comfortable as well as helping as much as she can. Josh is an artist at closures!

Dr. Johnson, PA Jake and Erica are the utmost professional and knowledgeable medical team for shoulders. Dr. Johnson is phenomenal. He performed rotator cuff tendon repair, had to cut bicep and reattach and I had NO pain. The pain started with PT, but so worth it. Plus, after surgery Dr. Johnson, himself, called to check my status! What doctor does that! He's remarkable! It's been 12 weeks since surgery and I have full range of motion back. I'm so happy I did my research beforehand. I made a great choice with Dr. Johnson and I'd highly recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Johnson was tasked with my challenging shoulder injury a few years ago. My situation was a unique one to say the least. Dr. Johnson fixed the initial problem, but unfortunately, I dislocated it a few more times, requiring a different type of surgery. He was extremely skilled and the bedside manner was far beyond expectation. He even called me, personally, on the weekend to see how I was doing.

As a 76 yr old male with several surgeries and two replacement surgeries, I can give Dr. Johnson and his team my highest recommendation. Dr. Johnson called me several times after my surgery to check in and Eric and Jake have been great.

Dr Johnson and his PA and staff are fantastic. The surgery to replace my shoulder far exceeded my expectations. I have 98% movement from my younger days. Absolutely thrilled with the surgery and tge Shoulder Clinic!

I had a torn rotator repair. Dr Johnson was so kind, caring and pleasant. I am so pleased with my surgery. I had heard that shoulder surgery was very painful so I was worried. It has not been that bad. I would like to thank Dr Johnson and his staff for taking such good care of me!! I would highly recommend him!

I traveled from Alaska to Idaho to have Dr. Johnson perform my surgery. I had a total right shoulder replacement. I am so pleased with the entire experience. Dr. Johnson never rushed me through any of my visits. He answered all my questions and was thorough. His team Jake and Erica are just as wonderful as well as all the staff that I had the pleasure of interacting with. I do have to give a shout out to the staff at the Treasure Valley Hospital where my surgery was performed. The food is to die for. I wanted to stay another day for the food alone. Dr. Johnson repaired my large rotator cuff tear in August of 2021. Because of his surgical skills and experience, I can easily move my arm in all directions without pain (this hadn't been the case for several years). I have and will continue to recommend him to people who experience shoulder pain. Additionally, his people (and EQ) skills are what differentiates him from other practitioners (in my experience). He genuinely cares about his patients and spends time with them to learn and understand what's going. I highly recommend him for all things shoulders!

I had arthroscopic shoulder surgery with Dr. Johnson early in 2021. I am extremely pleased with the results of the surgery and the wonderful care I received from Dr. Johnson and his staff. They always took the time to explain things to me and address any concerns I had. Later when I had some problems crop up with PT, Dr. Johnson was quick to remedy the situation. I would highly recommend Dr. Jared Johnson and if I ever have a shoulder problem in the future that is where I will be. He is knowledgeable, caring, empathetic and all-around awesome!

Had complete shoulder joint replacement. Could not of asked for a better experience and outcome. So very pleased. I give the highest recommendation possible.

I had seen multiple doctors over a period of 10 years, prior to seeing Dr. Johnson and his staff, trying to figure out what was wrong with my shoulder. Within one week of my first visit, I had the correct diagnostic scan that showed what was wrong. I have lupus and appreciate how knowledgeable Dr. Johnson is about lupus and how that might effect my surgery and recovery. I am treated with respect and care, which has not always been the case in my medical journey. I am finally hopeful that I will be able to enjoy daily life again, and activities that had become so painful.

Dr. Johnson is an outstanding surgeon, solid diagnosis- great pre/post op experience. So glad I finally had my shoulder done, wish I hadn’t waited waited so long -

I’ve been extremely happy with the care I’ve received from Dr. Johnson and his PA Jake. They both listened to my concerns and clearly explained my options. I ultimately decided on surgery. Dr. Johnson is well-versed in newer surgical methods and technologies and I’m so grateful for the decisions he made during surgery. My recovery has been much smoother than I anticipated due to his experienced surgical skills. And his post-surgical care has been just as great as pre-surgical. He really cares about his patients and their outcomes. I can’t recommend him enough!!

Dr Johnson listened to all my questions and concerns. He answered them in a way that was easy to understand. His nurse was also very attentive.

I absolutely will recommend Dr. Johnson to friends, family and clients. My rotator cuff & bicep tendon surgery went extremely well, as have my 12 weeks of recovery and PT. I couldn’t be happier! Dr. Johnson and every member of his staff were always calm, happy, timely, professional and personable. Any question I ever raised was listened to with sincere interest, and the answers were always explained thoroughly in easy to understand lay terms. I will be coming back soon to have my other rotator cuff repaired. I simply wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I will enthusiastically say that The Shoulder Clinic of Idaho, and specifically Dr Johnson deliver on their mission statement. I'm writing this review as I'm aware of how important it is to both patient and physicians. Today, doctors are inundated with many regulatory burdens that are not helpful to either. I like to keep that in mind always. Dr Johnson has an impressive biography, upheld by comments and referral made by some of my other healthcare professionals in the Boise area. I've seen Dr Johnson in office three times, and recently had a fairly significant rotator cuff surgery. It went better than expected and with less pain than expected. I'm still in process but expecting a very good outcome. I can tell you that the office, staff, and doctor experience has been far above average! All personal interactions, response, and follow through by Dr Johnson and team has been a rare, positive, and a refreshing healthcare experience for me. Carry on Dr Johnson and staff. Sharon

My visit with Dr Jared Johnson and his staff was beyond exceptional, they went out of their way to make you feel comfortable and after my surgery I felt so much relief I couldn't believe it, so happy and pain free from my shoulder discomfort. They truly care for their patients and their well being from the of their treatment to the end. He takes the time to sit down and talk with you about any questions or dignosis and or concerns you have. Plus they are all very friendly and caring for each individual that they encounter. Dr. johnson had the best caring, attentive bedside manner of any Dr. I have ever seen. Everything was well explained & the surgical outcome was excellent on my rotator cuff. Super helpful & responsive, especially when I had questions in the days after surgery.
