My dad had a stroke and was under the care of Dr Wright at Our Lady of Hope. We were unable to see him for 2 weeks due to COVID. We assumed he was being cared for, but the day he was supposed to come home my dad wasn’t stable enough to make the trip. He went to the emergency room instead. When he arrived the doctors in the emergency room didn’t know if he would survive. They told us his blood tests and general condition looked like he hadn’t been given food or water for 5 days. My dad died a week later.

Dr. Wright is in multiple facilities in Richmond. He treats everyone the same. Same medicines, and does not treat based on what families ask for. If your lived one is in a facility, or considering a facility ask if you can bring your own Doctor in!

This Doctor was the house Doctor at The Memory Center. I moved our family member out because of his incompetence. He truly just used old meds from years ago, all the same as he does with everyone. If you try to get him to introduce something new he gets an attitude. We left because of his inability to listen to family suggestions.

Dr. Wright may look competent on paper, but his competency has been seriously questioned by multiple family members of nursing home residents, who are given no choice but to have Dr. James Wright as attending physician. Is Dr. Wright competent, if he misdiagnoses his patients, with no supportive documentation to back up his conclusions and when reputable physicians disagree? Is Dr. Wright competent, if he regularly diagnoses patients with Alzheimer's Disease, with no tests to back him up?
