Churn and burn
I went in for my annual physical, selecting Koontz bc my normal physician was not listed on my new insurance. The entire appointment lasted maybe 15 minutes - the Dr. listened to my breathing, asked a few questions, and sent my off for blood work. The entire time it felt like he had somewhere else to be, like he wae checking boxes for billing.I asked for a precautionary prescription, which took 10 minutes to get bc I wanted a paper copy (to shop around). I was surprised months later with a bill. The EOB read one annual visit (covered) and one 30 minute in office visit. I was at their office for maybe 30 minutes total.

Awful experience
Every appointment I had with dr. Koontz was a waste of time. He never actually listened to any of my symptoms I was experiencing and didn’t come with a game plan to make see what was going on. Awful experience… don’t waste your time with this guy

Rushed and incomplete
I went to Dr. Koontz for my annual physical as a new patient. I waited months for the appointment. I shared about my severe iron deficiency in the past and several other things about my health history. I did receive bloodwork, but the only thing that was checked was my thyroid function. I am a 56-year-old woman and he didn't even check my cholesterol, D levels (which run low), or anything else. Basically, he used his stethoscope, asked me a few questions, and upon my request gave me an EKG (since I recently found out I have significant heart disease in my family) and then told me to come back in a year. insurance will not cover another physical for another year so I am going to have to self-pay at another Dr who will give me more care and not be so rushed.

I’ve gone there for over 40 years and LOVED Dr Jeter however, with his departure the service went straight into the toilet! So, finally, I had my medical records transferred to a ‘patient friendly practice ??

Each visit feels like the first, literally. I have had to recap the same history and symptoms that haven't been addressed from the previous visits and each time it's like the first time he has heard it. I tried to push harder for more tests to get answers and it was like, "Sure, whatever." and then there was no follow up as to what the results showed. When I sent an email expressing my concerns, the reply was... you guessed it... "You should make an appointment to discuss this further." How many appointments should it take before we move to diagnosis and treatment? Other doctors in other specialties confirmed there was an issue and said I needed to find a PCP to have it addressed. Oddly, I have to agree that I have "received treatment from this doctor" before posting this review. But have I? Also, Is there such thing as a "No Touch" yearly physical that only includes lab work? There is at this office.

I've been a long time patient of Dr. Koontz - many years now. I've always found him to be extremely smart, and he always has the right answer. He recently helped me with a tough issue - very thorough and picked up on every detail. His speaking style may seemed rush, but I definitely appreciate the no nonsense!

Doesn't take the time to seem invested in you as a patient. Feels like you're just another item on his agenda he needs to hurry through.
