Dr. James Schaupp, DO

As a dentist, I am quite familiar with many medical conditions and the use of drugs. Dr. Schaupp has been my primary physician for many years and I have found him to be not only knowlegible, but patient, concerned, and kind. Granted, his staff can be abrupt, which is a shame, but I recommend the man himself highly.

if you are looking for a doctor that will treat you like an idiot for asking questions and berate you, then this is the doctor for you! I walked out feeling verbally abused. Gradually he has become more and more incompetent and angry. Why would pay money to be treated like dirt by his and his assistant, I am not sure...I am now looking for a new doctor. This doctor and his practice are done, he needs to retire.

I saw Dr. Schaupp for a simple procedure which was left incomplete. I scheduled a follow-up to finish, and explained that my insurance had changed, and they were no longer on my plan so I would be paying cash. They made an appointment for me knowing all this and quoted me a price. The day before my appointment, they called to tell me they are not allowed to see me because their contract prohibits them from seeing me as a cash-paying patient. Who would sign such a contract?? Dr. Schaupp has been my primary care physician for the past 5+ years, and he has taken excellent care of me. It does take a long time to from entry to actually seeing him, but he is knowledgeable, friendly, and takes the time to understand what the issues are. Even his nurses are great.

You have to leave a message and have they will call you back for appt. Office old but ok. Staff was nice. He spent time with me but not confident he knows what he's doing.

It'll take more than an hour to see him, and then he won't want to deal with anything too hard. I do not think he is the most intelligent doctor in town.
