Dr. Hamza Hashmi, MD

I have been getting blood and urine monitoring at MSK for 14 years with various oncologists. They have all been great and have maintained my medication and given the same bloodwork over that time. As soon as I saw this doctor, he refused to administer the same bloodwork or prescribe the same medications that I have been maintained and stable on for 14 years. If that wasn't bad enough, he refused to talk to me about this despite repeated requests on my part. Furthermore, unlike every other oncologist who checked in with me after monthly blood tests, he gave me an appointment three months following three months of blood work instead of with every month follow-ups. This doctor has illustrated a complete lack of professionalism and ethics. He has shown a lack of caring and compassion. The reviews of him that accused him of being condescending and have lacking compassion definitely apply. He certainty is power hungry if anything and is 'above his patients.' I think he should be fired!

Dr. Hashmi is very intelligent, patient, and explains things very well. He wrote down everything for me to refer to after I left his office. My family came with me and he was very accepting of that. I feel very trusting with him.

Dr. Hashmi is extremely rude and condescending. Hospital management needs to have a long discussion with him and consider having Dr. Hashmi take some time off to attend some “bedside manner” seminars. Don’t expect to walk away from a visit with Dr. Hashmi feeling optimistic or hopeful, expect to feel defeated and depressed.
