I trust him with my vision.
I have been a patient of Dr. Berdy for about 20+ years. He has seen me through some rough ophthalmic times through the years with his expertise and kindness. He takes time to explain and has never been dismissive of my situation. I trust him with my vision, which I never take for granted and neither does he. Wait times have been long at times, but I have absolutely been the emergency that has upset the schedule. He is a top, if not the top, specialist in his area of practice and sees patients with significant and complicated eye conditions/disease. In an after hour emergency, I received a rapid and thorough response.

Long wait, doesn't listen to patients
Over 1 1/2 hour wait and then sent through an assembly line of different workers (have to trust they are all qualified). Get to Dr Berdy and he never took time to double check anything the others had done or to ask me anything about why I was there. Prescribed a bunch of meds for conditions I don't have. I can not tell you enough ways DO NOT GO HERE! He's a waste of time and not worth it.

There is a wait to see Dr. Berdy, but it's worth it to receive the best care available. Dr. Berdy has (and is) saving my vision. I have several conditions he's treating that other physicians aren't qualified to treat.

As all of these reviews suggest you will likely wait in the office to see Dr Berdy. That is the reason for 4 stars, but even with that I considered 5 stars because what he did for my daughter was worth every minute we waited to see him. My experience with him as a doctor though is that he is phenomenal. I assume the reason or wait was so long is because he took a much time as we needed to help us understand what was going on! My daughter has had 2 surgeries and been to the top 3 pediatric eye specialists. After 12 years none of them could figure out what was wrong. We were at the point of another surgery and sought out Dr Berdy at the suggestion of our optometrist. He figured it out immediately. Within weeks he symptoms were significantly improved after years of problems. She didn't have to have another surgery and she has not had problems with her eyes for 2 years!

I waited for three hours. Finally got to the back, and they bounced me around from one room to the next. He ignored my questions and was very arrogant .

Very uncomfortable atmosphere, 4 hour wait, and the doctor and nurses did not give me time to talk and explain what my issues were. The doctor jumped to conclusions within 10 minutes of the exam and prescribed me so many unnecessary medications and told me to buy it from them because it’s cheaper. I asked them how do they know it’s cheaper? My insurance ended up covering the whole medication. The ophthalmology associates wanted to make more money. I ended up stopping the medications because of side effects.

Decent enough doctor, but I’d recommend you shop around. He refuses to prescribe generic medications, and it is not unusual to spend 3-4 hours at an appointment, most of that time spent waiting to see the doctor. I felt like an object on an assembly line, as most of the interactions with medical personnel and staff were impersonal. I ended up finding another doctor, and received excellent card and treatment.

All three appointments took 3-4 hours to complete for simple dry eye. The front desk receptionist at St. Peters was cold and abrupt to the point of rudeness at every visit. The last straw was when the office manager, Katie, refused to seek pre-approval for a medicine because THEY now sell it for three times my insurance cost. Katie didn't care that their office did this same approval the year before or the additional cost to this customer.

Although a slight wait time, it was worth it. Having serious eye issues and complications, I wouldn't want to be in the care of anyone other than Dr. Berdy. From the time he takes with each individual patients, to seeing emergencies on the weekend, I am truly grateful for such a great physician.

Way overbooked!! Takes forever to get in for an appointment and then you can sit and wait for 3 or more hours to see the doctor. Last week I tried calling the receptionist to cancel an appointment and I waited for 23 minutes. finally left a message saying No More! Not coming back.. this man thinks his time is way more precious than my time..

Dr. Berdy is the best eye doctor you could want! My husband had some major problems with his eye and Dr. Berdy took the time to listen to him and fixed the problem that no other doctor could fix! I changed to him as well. He take the time with you to make sure that everything with your eyes are fine! My worst fear is going blind, (my mother was blind when she passed away). He has calmed those fears!!!!

Two out of three appointments the dr was running 3 hours late.Rushed and didn't answer questions.Staff referred to my son as a female (he is obviously male) and called him by the wrong name. Many speak with heavy foreign accents and hard to understand. My son has glasses purchased from their office that do not correct his vision at all, even though we have been to multiple visits. They will not refund our money on them.Main lady working in the glasses area is somewhat rude and not helpful at all
