Dr. Giraldo Kato, MD

I have been a patient of Dr Kato's for 7 years. He is so knowledgeable about breast cancer and treatments. He may not be 'warm and fuzzy' at first, but he is like a bulldog with a bone in combatting tumor growth. I cannot say enough about how he watches your situation like a hawk and then moves fast and decisively. I would not trust anyone else with my cancer care!!

After my husband battled and recovered from colon cancer in another state. We moved to Arizona. Our new oncologist Dr. Kato saw something suspicious with routine testing and had additional tests performed. At our followup appointment he literally rushed in stating my husband was cancer free and rushed out after a few words. I felt a 2nd opinion was needed. The new oncologist told my husband he had liver cancer with 6 months to live without treatment. My husband choose treatment. Sadly my husband passed but was given an additional 18 months to live with treatment. My husband, my family, and I were all grateful for the additional time together.

I like Dr. Kato. Very competent and personable, but the HOnor Health policy of billing your visit twice sucks. You pay the co-pay to see Dr. Kato, and then Honor Health bills you for an outpatient visit. We're paying for Honor Health's rent in an office building. As I am only taking anti-hormone pills, I don't need chemo. I am going to switch doctors.

I visited Dr Kato for the first time a couple of weeks ago and have been meaning to leave a glowing review on his behalf! We have been through several oncologists over the past few years here in Sedona...I was so relieved to meet Dr. Kato! He greeted me with a warm smile...he had already read my medical records and knew my history so we were able to talk right away about things that mattered the most to me...he has the most wonderful demeanor and bedside manner. I genuinely feel that he really cares about his patients. We are blessed to have such a wonderful oncologist here in Verde Valley!??????????

This has nothing at all to do with dr Kato or heather who I would gladly give more than 5 stars Now that he is part of honor health you must pay an additional facility charge so essentially you get one bill for your medical visit and another to walk in the door and sign in It’s appalling that we now pay for rent at this office

Dr. Kato has been treating my mother for nine years. He has the most professional and compassionate staff. My mom travels every month to see him because he is that great. He is very encouraging and truly cares about his patients. I would recommend him to anyone that would need his services.

I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 35. Huge shock and I had to make allot of BIG decisions very fast. I was lucky enough to meet Dr. Kato when I was asked to come to the Tumor Board Panel that himself and other wonderful Healthare Professionals conduct. This panel discussion helped to clarify my questions, make my decison about my treatment plan, and at this panel is when I knew Dr. Kato was definiteky the right choice to be my oncologist!
