Excellent surgeryu and after-care
Dr. Counelis is the best possible choice you could make for back surgery, always a very difficult and consequential decision. He did two back surgeries for me, one in an emergency situation. I feel deeply grateful for his excellent surgical care and caring follow-up service.

Surgery to repair fracture of C6, i.e. broken neck
Dr. Counelis performed two surgeries to repair the fracture at C6. I have full movement of my arms and legs. etc. There were two telehealth followups after an initial office visit to remove staples from an incision and generally check my condition.

Was concise thoughtful, recommended appropriate tests to quickly diagnose the pathology I am a physician who evaluates 300 injured workers a year and I can honestly state that Dr Counelis did an excellent job from the initial evaluation to post surgery visits His office staff is a bonus, helpful and efficient

“I got best care at this office as I could have imagined. Dr. Counelis is a great doctor. The results of my back surgery were outstanding. The doctor is very caring and knowledgeable. He spends a lot of time explaining the problem and available options to address it. The care provided by the office is great. Roxanne is very helpful and in my case she did her best to schedule my surgery as soon as possible to shorten my suffering. I would strongly recommend this practice.

Dr. Counelis is the absolute best. I saw him after suffering for months with severe burning and throbbing pain on the left side of my neck. It turned out my vertebrae was unstable, with compression into my spinal canal and various nerve roots. Dr. Counelis fused 8 vertebrae from C2-T2. It’s been six months since the surgery. I have a greater range of motion than I expected and my pain level has dropped by 80%. These results far exceeded my expectations. Dr. Counelis has superior skill, he patiently answered all of my questions, and I had many, and he takes his time with you. I cannot imagine another neurosurgeon doing a better job.

A very positive experience...his office is impeccable and pleasant with big screen TV featuring quality nature films and personal TVs with medical articles. The receptionist is quite friendly and efficient. Dr. Counelis is a calming and knowledgeable physician. He provides a common sense pragmatic approach to his diagnostic review. I highly recommend Dr. Counelis.

He is a good neuro surgeon, but do not expect him to be interested in the back surgery care. I saw him 3 times after surgery with acute pain in my Achilles tendon and his only recommendation was to take ibuprofen. I decided to contact another surgeon who looked at it carefully and saw that the tendon was partially torn and gave me the right P.T. recommandation.
