Bright and compassionate care!
I wish there were more stars I could give this bright and compassionate Urologist. We live on the south coast and have no access to urology. After a month of trying to get a timely urology appointment, the Oregon Urology Institute gave my husband a next day appointment (due to cancellation). We were glad to drive 4 hours to get in with a Urologist. The front desk and nursing staff were kind and helpful, Dr. Ferguson apologized for having a patient emergency and arranged for my husband to have 2 needed tests and a patient education session that day. This was 12/21, the Thursday before Christmas. Services flowed smoothly from our arrival at 2:00 pm until we left at 5:00. Dr.Ferguson was attentive and respectful as she gathered history, gave us diagnostic information and provided a clear care plan. She was sensitive to our distance from the clinic and scheduled telephonic follow up after the next test in April. Dr. Ferguson and the Oregon Urology Institute provide excellent care,

Never The email below is valid.
She was incredibly rude and offensive. She spent approximately 5-10 minutes looking at her computer, never asking how the patient was feeling, never explained anything (because she wanted to get out of the exam room as soon as possible) and was incompetent. For example she never ordered a UTI because, in her words, the urine sample looked clear. This resulted in a visit to urgent care two days later which diagnosed a UTI within 15 minutes. We asked for an MRI and she said she’d order one but didn’t. We asked for the order but she said she was too busy and refused to show the patient her file. The 89 year old patient left in tears, not because of her health difficulties, but because Dr. Ferguson was so ill-mannered, impolite, unpleasant, disagreeable and downright nasty. I have never seen anything like it in my 70 years. On a more pleasant note, the staff was professional, personable and kind.

Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Dr. Ferguson communication skills are lacking along with her bedside manner. My issue was not resolved in the least I am however now in medical debt due to months of her stringing me along. The last straw was Ferguson taking out her frustrations from somewhere else, directly out on me. Again, wouldn't recommend at all.

I have to agree with another reviewer, not friendly at all, borderline rude. Spent all of 10 minutes with me and this was my first meeting with her. She typed more on the computer than even look at me and it was difficult to discuss my concerns after such rudeness. She might be a good Dr, but as I am paying to see her the least she could have done was listen, cutting me off in mid sentence, obviously in too much of a hurry.

My initial appt. with Dr. Ferguson was rushed and she was inattentive to patient history/report of symptoms...borderline rude and left feeling dazed and confused about diagnostic tests she scheduled. Subsequent imagining required follow up appointment and surgical scheduling which was again rushed, forceful (sped through options, risk and pushed for a decision because she had "other patients waiting"). My outpatient surgery resulted in complications with infection and sepsis requiring hospitalization; at which point she was dismissive of symptoms, made reference to other patient success and was largely unavailable to manage hospitalization. My mother, and medical proxy, arranged for her dismissal as my care provider and a colleague was assigned to replace her for a secondary surgery and all follow up care. The risk was disclosed but the before and after care contributed greatly to the outcome of the process.

In 2012 Dr. Ferguson Diagnosed me with bladder cancer. She followed up with surgery to remove the cancer and treatments of BCG which I had a reaction to and switched to Chemo. She was always very attentive, caring, has compassion and is concerned. It is now 2018 and I am still cancer free. I will always remember her as a fantastic Dr. I would tell anyone that may be considering her for their Urologist, don't hesitate, She is the best in my opinion.

Had a very good experience with Dr. Ferguson on an emergency basis. She's no-nonsense, probably overworked, and to-the-point -- just perfect for me at that moment. Her work and team were excellent.

I would recommend Dr. Ferguson to family and friends. She takes the time to find out what is wrong and gets the correct diagnosis in the process. Like all the physicians in this group, she is also overbooked and I've had to had my appt's rescheduled, but when I need to speak with her, she always calls me back. I find her to be highly professional and easy to communicate with about medical issues.
