Dr. Thong Bui, MD

Dr Bui wrote me off when my bladder cancer became metastatic. My GP scheduled a scoping of my bladder and he kept asking why I was there and kept repeating the phrase, you have metastatic cancer over and over. I fired him and switched to Dr.Bryan, she was great but left to move back east. I will sorely miss her. I wouldn’t recommend Dr. Bui to anyone period.

Dr Bui is both professional and personal. His after surgery calls to check on my welfare was unexpected and very much appreciated.

He answered all my questions. was great.

My TURP surgery (performed by Dr. Bui) to treat my urinary frequency and bladder retention problems turned out very well. I recommend him highly as a compassionate doctor and a skilled surgeon.

On time, Staff friendly, Knowledgeable helpful,and as always, Dr. Bui explains all procedures, results and treatments, and answers questions thoroughly.

According to Dr. Bui, High PSA levels equals Cancer. Not interested in an alternative diagnosis. Digital exam shows no enlargement, MRI shows no legion, and he will progress right to a invasive biopsis, which of course shows no cancer. Is like an automaton for what's wrong with the healthcare industry, is willing to continue to poke and prod at the prostate until it no longer functions correctly. All the while every office visit his behavior towards the patient is very adversarial. He asked if I wanted a second opinion (which I accepted) which was his code for his decision to drop me a patient. Not very professional to drop a patient in a crisis situation. Moreover his plan once cancer was found was to either 'Cut out a portion of the prostate or remove it all together'. My primary care physician was horrified. Advancements in non-invasive proton therapy are almost cookbook these days, not that Dr. Bui would know anything about that.Good riddance

My dad had the TURP surgery about 2 weeks ago and is doing so well. This surgery heavily relies on the skills of the surgeon. Dr. Bui is an AMAZING surgeon. My dad was scared about his surgery and had read horrible recovery stories. No matter how well you take care of yourself after surgery, if your surgeon wasn't good, there will be issues with recovery. The only thing that I could say that needs improvement is that because Dr. Bui is so busy, sometimes the appointments feel a little rushed, but it's understandable. You can tell by looking at the man that he is a skilled surgeon. I can't thank DR. Bui enough for giving my dad some normalcy back to his life. For all those men out there suffering with urination problems, go get the TURP surgery, but make sure you have a good surgeon. I highly recommend DR. Bui. He is truly one of the best surgeons in the region.

I found Dr Bui and his staff to be very efficient and professional. Dr Bui explained the proceedure in a clear and precise manor. I can't say enough about the care I received after the surgery. The nursing staff were very professional in a somewhat embarrassing situation.

The staff is very unprofessional, long wait times, rescheduled appointment three times. Poor communications caused me to reschedule biopsy, missing an additional day of work. Would not allow me to discuss concerns with Dr. Bui. Anti-Veteran bias.

Dr. Bui enjoys thinking that he is a very good urologist and he doesn't lack praising his virtues of being a fine urologist. He may indeed be a very good urologist but lacks empathy and is too quick to judge his patient as mentally incompetent (demented) when the patient is only fearful of the surgical procedure. This should be very understandable and quick to assess especially when one has NEVER been sick in his life!

I had a couple Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy with Dr. Bui a few years ago. Two successful surgery absolutely painless. I will absolutely recommend Dr. Bui to any one with kidney issues.
