Dr. Gem Lucas, DO

Extremely unprofessional and truly works out of fear. Due to my substance abuse issues when I was 15, she threatened my parents that she would call child protective services if I wasn't enrolled in an outpatient program. My parents were unaware of my substance use and I have the best, most loving parents and the highest support from them so it was extremely shocking and scary that she was threatening that. Do not go to her. She needs her license taken away.

I had a very similar NIGHTMARE experience as an earlier poster about 1.5 months prior to her review (early Dec. 2017). While at a med check appt, during a stressful move, Dr. Lucas asked if I needed emergency response to be called because I was crying (WTF???), dropped 2 meds (I'd been taking 5+ years) and told me I needed to attend their 2 week outpatient program at the hospital. Stopped going in 2/2018. FINALLY have help paying for a private dr in a week and will also file MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS

Dr. Lucas is unprofessional. She changes her mind about her recommendations without consulting the patient. Run far far away- and fast. She wouldn't even explain herself. She hid behind another doctor in the practice and the office manager. No concern for the patient's well-being.

My Dr. was not available and so I was offered appt with Dr. Lucas. Worst experience ever. Requesting meeting with President of HMC after experience. The rest of HBH is great, and do not seen to stereotype and assume based on a 10 minute appt. Behavioral health requires a established comfort level that requires trust and time. Assuming this was just a med check. I had no apprehension until a simple med check was a biased grilling. 7 years of established trust in a provider broken by weak link.
