Labeled as a functional patient with fibromyalgia.
I saw Dr. Siegel for joint pain a few years ago. He compared me unfavorably to his wife several times and kept telling me to be quiet after he asked each question. He talked about how lucky he is to be married to a lovely lady who is also a doctor and who doesn’t speak too much. He told me I had fibromyalgia without doing elimination testing. I’ve suffered now for several years with numbness, tingling throughout my body, pain and swelling in my hands and feet, difficulty walking, talking and swallowing. If Dr. Siegel believed I didn’t have something he treats then he could’ve sent me to a neurologist or a doctor who could go through differential diagnosis to find what is wrong. He did not. Instead, following my visit to him I’ve had trouble finding basic medical care without being treated rudely and reminded that I’m a functional patient.Spine deterioration causes my symptoms. I have suffered for years now, been falsely labelled as a functional patient with years delay in Dx and Tx.

Better Receptionist
Although normally when I'm scheduled an appt here my visits go well but today was terrible. The receptionist here are the worst. A lady by the name of Misha and another black lady with glasses. There impolite, inconsiderate and don't seem to value there job or patients. They gossip as if there not at work and don't speak fond of the patients that call in to schedule or change a appt. I had to unfortunately observe a lot of childishness and nonsense during this visit.

Very caring Doctor as well as staff
Been pain free since being under his care. Wanted to give a big thanks to Chantise who was my Lab Technician. She has a great technique for taking blood. Could barely feel the needle.

Dismissed and shamed
I thought at first I had found the right rheumatologist for me. He ordered tests others hadn't and prescribed me a med others didn't. But my last appointment was the most humiliating experience. I struggle with chronic widespread pain and eating disorder. I put on ten pounds between our visit. He told me that I just needed to 'get thin' and that would help my pain despite him seeing me when I was at what is considered a healthy weight for my age and height. I use a cane in my twenties. I was thin and I was still using a cane. I will never go back to him again.

He is always on vacation. He doesn’t listen. Visit is only about meds. He doesn’t seem interested in his patient. He is in a hurry. Face in front of computer with no eye contact. No empathy for chronic patients. Unable to switch to another dr due to office policy. So what does one do if they are not being helped?

Dr. Siegel has taken care of me for many years. He is a wonderful, compassionate doctor and individual. He takes time to answer any questions or concerns I have with kindness and knowledge that helps me to have a better understanding of my disease. A big plus is that he always strives to be on time. Thank you, Dr. Siegel, for the care and understanding you have shown to me all these years.

Dr. Siegel is awesome. The receptionist should not be in that position. She is grumpy as is the lady at check out. The rest of the staff are good. especially the lab techs. They are caring and compassionate and get the job done right on the first try.
