Why?
Saw the great reviews so I scheduled an appointment (6 months later for first availability!).. Me & my arthritis hobbled in with a cane. Nobody in waiting room had cane or walker, so I had hope for my pain. He takes history, sends me down the hall for X-rays. Receptionist says yes, you have arthritis, come back in 6 months. SERIOUSLY?

Dr. Burwell is fantastic
Dr. Burwell is excellent, I can't recommend him strongly enough. He's incredibly thorough, a great communicator, provided me with a tremendous amount of information, and dedicated plenty of time to permit a complete work-up and make sure that I had all of my questions answered.

Dr. Burwell is an excellent Rheumatologist!
I’ve been seeing Dr. Burwell for over a year as my Rheumatologist. Each and every visit, he listens, he asks questions and explains anything I may have questions about. He’s always responsive when I send him a message through the patient portal. I highly recommend him as a Rheumatologist!

Front office staff horrible.
Front staff should be handling cattle instead of the public the way she speaks to patients. Absolutely ridiculous

Great Provider!!!
This provider is genuinely caring and you can tell he is doing the best he can with a full schedule! . He actually listens to what you have to say and is very knowledgeable. He spent enough time with me to hear me out for my initial visit. The only issue that I would bring up, (that isn’t provider related, but more office related) is that the front office lost my new patient paperwork that I took my time to fill out and mail back one month prior to my appt. The FOA’s also seemed “irritated” and overwhelmed. But other than that, the provider was great, empathic and time efficient. I would recommend leaving a few “same day” slots available for people who might need to come in sooner than later. It’s extremely hard to get an appt.

the only negative thing I can say is you can never get an appointment right away. You have to wait a while. But Dr. Burwell is easy to talk to and spend enough time with me, he listens, and answers all my questions. He also gets back to me with my questions very timely. He actually called me on the phone one time, which is unheard of. He is thorough and thoughtful. So Far I am pleased.
