I called to schedule appointment as new patient. Did not receive call back until after 24 hours the next day. I assume he is too busy to take new patients if it takes this long just to schedule an appointment.

While the first appointment was thorough, my follow up appointment was not. I had bloodwork and a CT. I could not understand what was said and he ordered a sputum culture. I informed him I’d be without insurance for a month due to COVID lay-off. I had my test done; I can read the bad results from Labcorp but because I’m in between insurance until July 1, no one has returned my calls at all. I guess If you don’t have insurance, they won’t give you the time of day.

I met Dr. Akula while I was hospitalized and found him to be very thorough and competent. The nurses and other doctors I spoke with gave him the highest praise, which is why I stopped seeing the doctor I was registered with and changed doctors.
