Avoid any business that is associated with Dr Ng and his cut shop (Ng stands for NoGood). Dr NoGood pushed a "vision enhancement" surgery to me, and the result is my eyesight is worse in both eyes. Furthermore, NoGood did not adequately inform me of the risks or alternatives. I made a mistake of trusting him and now I’m paying the price. He values profits ahead of patients. I suggest you avoid Dr NoGood.

He suggested an eye surgery without telling me any possible complications or alternatives such as glasses or contacts. I trusted him and agreed to the surgery. Now my vision is worse than ever.

Did not discuss possible problems
I was contemplating an eye surgery procedure to improve my vision. I told Dr Ng I was considering it, and he said “let’s do it.” He should have said something like “it’s a major surgery. Are you sure you need it?” I would have said no. Instead, I followed his advice and as a result my vision has degraded due to complications I was unaware of.

Very poor patient interaction/ignores every word
After retina detachment surgery he kept changing the reason for my cloudy vision. First it was scar tissue which could easily be removed with a fourth surgery. Then it was swelling in the fovea. Then it was some of the oil wasn’t removed during the second surgery. Three surgeries, 4 laser surgeries for high pressure (never made any difference in the pressure). Then several steroid injections behind the eyeball…no improvement. The pressure drops he prescribed were confirmed by an MD (a Stanford medical school graduate) to be the cause of my sudden catastrophic drops in blood pressure. I felt like I was dieing over and over, the most horrible feeling I’ve ever experienced in my life. Got to be once or twice a day. After TWO YEARS of telling his staff and him I thought it was the pressure drops, I ran out of the worst one for a few days and the attacks went away. Telling the initial interview nurse about that finally got her to say “a lot of patients say that” in a hushed tone.

In a recent rating, I rated Dr. Ng outstanding following treatment for CRVO, a vitrectomy, and cataract surgery. Unfortunately, following a week or two after cataract surgery, the results have proven to be poor at best. After not being able to reach Dr. Ng who was in Guam and experiencing extremely cloudy vision, I was referred to another ophthalmologist who has been striving to arrive at a possible cause and treatment for this problem which has left me practically blind in my left eye. The issue I now have with Dr. Ng is that he may be difficult to reach in an emergency as he apparently travels a great deal to his other offices including Guam, and in that regard, I feel I was premature in my prior rating and must follow with a reduced one.

I punctured my left eye in a construction Accident Dr Eugene cleared it up quite well hi. He and his staff are some of the most professional I've ever seen. After 4 surgeries and many months of therapy my vision in the damaged guy is back to almost normal which I considered to be a miracle considering the damage. Mahalo to Eugene and his staff for getting me back my eyesight!
