Organized, professional, excellent patient care

Dr. Hedlund knows me (from all my surgeries) we talk about different options and he listens to what I have to say. He is an amazing doctor. I would highly recommend Dr. Hedlund

Before seeing Dr. Hedlund I was told I had an FAI impingement in my left hip and was scheduled for surgery. After looking at my x rays he determined I do not have a true impingement and referred me to Mary free bed for more testing. Relieved to see a doctor who took into account the severity of my motorcycle accident a few years back. Instead of going off only my symptoms he looked at the big picture. FYI the first surgeon who had me scheduled for the unnecessary surgery was at west Michigan orthopedics

Listened about pain, chose conservative treatment I was comfortable with. Gave a proper diagnosis after being misdiagnosed. Was seen quickly! Thorough to check for other concerns. Great doctor!

The radiologist interpreted a scan one way but Hedlund had a different interpretation. He thought I had no problem and didn't need surgery. I was in excruciating pain. I felt like he was charting things that had nothing to do with the issues I was presenting to him with to try to show I was a nutcase. Eventually, I went to a doctor at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NY and they did surgery pretty much immediately. I felt so much relief over night and am now pain free. If I had listened to Hedlund, I may still be in horrible pain! I have no idea what made him think he knew more than a radiologist, but I would not recommend him.

I thought for sure I would require arthroscopic knee surgery but Dr. Hedlund recommended a more conservative approach for now which I appreciate!

The office did not reach us to reschedule the appointment so we arrived and they did not expect us. Dr. H. did not make us come back and made room in his schedule to do the injection. At 91 that isn't an easy thing to do. Thank you!

Six-week follow-up after my total shoulder replacement. This was my third joint replacement with OAM, after having both hips done by Dr. Malvitz in 2015 and 2021, and now the shoulder with Dr. Hedlund. Dr. Hedlund -- who also did my knee meniscus in 2010 -- fully explained the options and procedure before the surgery, the procedure went exactly as predicted, and my recovery is also on track. Actually, a little ahead of schedule. Both Dr. Hedlund and his PA Corey Koll are highly skilled practitioners, and are also excellent communicators. They don't leave you guessing about anything, and I have full confidence in their abilities.As a life-long athlete, I wouldn't consider taking my worn-out, 63-year-old joints to any other practice.

Dr Hedlund has performed surgery on both of my hips due to a congenital issue causing a labrum tear. Both surgeries have been successful and there is no other surgeon that I would have had these procedures done with. The care, kindness, compassion and I have received from Dr Hedlund and Cory Koll are like no other.

I am so fortunate to have Dr. Hedlund as my surgeon. He is skilled, thorough, attentive, and compassionate. In his care I always feel like I am in good hands. He also surrounds himself with an impressive staff who exhibit the same outstanding qualities. I have complete confidence in Dr. Hedlund and his team.

Failed shoulder surgery. I was told my shoulder should be good to go in 6 months after surgery, then a year, then a year and a half. When it became obvious that something was not right, I was told my severe pain must be coming from somewhere else. After several visits to other doctors, 2 more MRI’s and 2 more injections for pain, it was determined that my shoulder was the problem and the issue was being passed on. At that point I was ghosted and shortly after I was told there was nothing more that could be done for me and asked to move on.I understand that people make mistakes, but when you can’t own up to it and dismissive and arrogant responses are used, there’s more wrong here than a mistake.I won’t even get into how disheveled the support staff is and the problems created with that.I simply can’t recommend someone that doesn’t care for their patients and hope this review helps someone make an informed decision before moving forward with this guy.

Dr. Hedlund's approach and personal interact action is one of the best I have experienced over many years of multiple orthopedic issues and surgeries. I would highly recommend you consult with OAM for your orthopedic concerns and Dr. Hedlund specifically for his specialties. He performed surgery on my shoulder to address and correct multiple chronic and traumatic issues I was having and the results couldn't have been any better.
