HORRIBLE
If I could give zero stars I would. I’ve seen many doctors in my lifetime and Dr Schnackenberg is by far the most insensitive and rude, I called the office the day before bringing my elderly parents in to explain my mom was having some memory issues and was very sensitive about it and that I’d like to talk to the doctor perhaps privately. He walked in the room and stated “So I hear you’re having some memory loss?” “It’s probably Alzheimer’s” So then I tried to respond quietly, “Are there tests for that?” To which he responded’ “Well when she’s dead they can slice open her brain and say oh yeah she had Alzheimer’s” Nice. Then while examining my father I mentioned they would be moving in with me to which he replied “Whoa you’re going to have your hands full!” With both of them present. It almost seemed like he was on purpose trying to be hurtful, I only hope and pray he does not stay in practice . Hopefully my review will save someone else for this grossly insensitive man.

Not very good with elderly mother
Scared elderly mother about needing to move to assisted living the first time he met her without any preamble in first few minutes (!) of appointment. Also wanted to discontinue the medication she had been taking to relieve arthritis pain for years though her bloodwork was fine. We also checked the Open Payments Data government website (openpaymentsdata.cms.gov) to see how much many he was getting from the pharmaceutical companies:He accepted $32,482.96 in payments primarily from GlaxoSmithKline in 2022. He took $14,742.62 in payments also primarily from GlaxoSmithKline in 2021.Makes us questions his objectivity and motivations when treating patients.

Never again
Terrible. Showed very little care and misdiagnosed my condition as well. A dangerous complete waste of time and resources. Never again!

Dismissed my complaints
Was my primary care provider from 2005-2006. Made me feel unheard and uncared for regarding back pain. I am glad that other appreciate his expertise. I felt so unheard that... here I am checking back after over a decade to see how others have fared.

4 STARS - ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT
When reading these reviews I am disappointed at some of the concerns that patients have mentioned. I definitely don't want a physician that rushes me out the door, or is constantly looking at their watch, or answers my questions with, " you're fine ". I had that with my last doctor, and for that reason I chose to change doctors. I hope we are breaking that vicious cycle. In any event, I had my first appointment and I found him to be extremely personable. I had my little list of questions and he answered all of them, and I felt he was very thorough. I've been extremely healthy all of my life and that being said I did leave the office a little depressed as I felt I was on my last leg (so to speak). I do believe it's in the delivery, how you articulate it to the patient. So for now, I'm going to keep Dr. Schnakenberg. I'm looking for that old school doctor, that when I'm sick, I can call him and he knows me, and my history and he'll call something into the pharmacy for me.

Very quick - not thorough. Fluffs off questions with “your fine” responses. Doesn’t take the time to actually listen or express concern. Consistently has one foot out the door when you begin to ask questions. If you’re looking for the “jiffy lube” of doctors then you’ll be pleased. If you’re looking for preemptive and proactive healthcare that addresses your concerns and needs, then look elsewhere.

I was very disappointed with his lack of concern and follow-up with an issue I was having. He blew off my concerns and made me feel as if I were fabricating my plight. He was only concerned with referring me to doctors within the CCP network even though that meant an initial appointment with a CCP specialist that would be seven months in the future. It was not until an attentive physician did some testing and discovered the issues I was having were not in my head. I have now been able to proceed with the proper care for my health.

Dr. Schnakenberg seems to know his stuff and stay current with the latest research on effective treatments. He has a straight-forward approach when asking questions and gives open and honest feedback. I appreciate that he has a lighthearted and calm demeanor, even if I am feeling (and acting) miserable. I also love that his practice actually puts the client portal app to good use, so I can make appointments and refill prescriptions, quickly and easily.

Dr. Schnakenberg has been my primary care physician for more than 25 years. He listens to what I say and asks questions. He never looks disinterested and never leaves the room until I finish my questions/discussion. He's personable, professional and straightforward . I'll be 70 on my next birthday and recently moved more than an hour away. This will eventually force me to change physicians - something I'm not looking forward to. Dr. Schnakenberg is an excellent and caring doctor.

Excellent primary care doctor. After being with the same doctor for over 40 years and very apprehensive about making the change, Dr. Schnakenberg was a breath of fresh air. His appointments are right on time and as well as quick in and out. Such a good guy and well versed in the field. I feel lucky to have found him. I would recommend him him for any age. DZ

Dr. Schnakenberg may be good for very basic visits, but I would not recommend him for anything other than flu, strep throat, anything of that nature. He spends minimal time with patients and is dismissive if there is no clearly defined issue, and believes if a few quick methods don't solve the problem to wait it out. I went to see another physician after making no progress in about four months' time and it was like night and day. Mariah at the front desk is incredibly great, though!

Been visiting for annual physicals for 11 years. Competent and patient; broad knowledge base and network. Reviewed extensively prior to seeing him, as I come from a family of doctors and health professionals and have no tolerance for waiting or incompetence. Has always been great to work with, even when I was living abroad and needed answers remotely.

He does like to prescribe your problems away. He is good for basic sick visits like flu, ear infections and things of that sort of thing. I often wondered if he earns commission on the side for pushing flu shots and shingles vaccines. When a patient declines, he keeps pushing them. The corporate structure is more about quantity than quality. A new ding dong answers the phone and fails to follow-up and relay messages. For serious illnesses...look elsewhere.
