Came in for a thumb sprain/tear, the PA appeared to be the only person who paid any time or attention to my case. Zinberg came in for a few seconds and said it was no big deal. I got a second opinion some months later because it was still swollen, weak and aching, as it turns out the injury had been far more serious then Zinberg (or his assistant for that matter) had determined, but little could now be done as the injury had set. Eighteen months later my thumb is a wreck and probably will be for the rest of my life. This makes for one fat aching thumb down for Ephraim Zinberg.

Hubs ended up with a boxer's fracture after doing something totally out of character. We had to see a hand surgeon and since hubs was already a patient at the Core Institute, we called and got an appointment right away. Dr. Zinberg was knowledgeable, explained everything as he went, took great care in assessing what needed to be done and the outcome was great!

When Zinberg was at DMC, I saw him for a severe wrist break - after great results with other surgeons at DMC. All Zinberg did was put a fixator on, which ended up doing nothing to actually fix the break. I've since had two additional surgeries by other surgeons to try and fix the damage that has been done - including bone donation for an impacted radius bone that is dying and wrist that has now collapsed. I wish I had done more homework in selecting a surgeon. Fusion is my best option now.
