She didn't take the time to listen to all my problems just prescribed pills that did not work. I went through this office for months being pushed off and told we are working on this or that with no results. I was constantly being charged, yet I was never diagnosed or found anything to help. This was a waste of a year of my life and I still have the problem. She did not follow through with anything.

Ouch Kidney Stones
Ended up being transferred to St Bernard’s where I was admitted due to kidney stones. I have zero complaints from the care I received from everyone. Dr Jacobs come saw me and conducted the procedure the same day where some stones were removed and stents placed in so I could pass the others. As this isn’t my first adventure with stones but first experience with Dr Jacobs I have zero complaints and thankful for the care she provided me. I would definitely recommend her and plan on using her going forward in hopes to find a regimen so I don’t have anymore stones!

My First and Most Painful Kidney Stone
Dr. Emily Jacobs is a brilliant Surgeon at St. Bernard's Urology as are all at UA. Started having severe stabbing pain around 4 pm 04/02/23. Finally couldn't manage the severity of pain, & taken to St. Bernard's Hospital and ER at 7am two days later (04/04/23). The ER Physicians & staff got an I.V. in me and also took a CT WITH Contrast, showing a 4mm stone right where the left kidney connects to it's Ureter. Sent home with FloMax, Pain Medication & was told to strain the urine each time I felt the urge. I did what they told me that day April 4th '23, living in so much pain that had increased 5 fold, and my family took me back to St. Bernard's ER, where I was admitted finally on Sunday. Dr. Emily Jacobs arrived at 3pm to my room after a CT without contrast they'd taken earlier in the morning. My Kidney stone hadn't moved 2 tiny millimeters still very close touching the kidney. She placed a stent on 4/16 and removed stone 04/28/23. Grateful to Dr. Jacobs & her Staff at St. B. Urology.

A failed lithotripsy procedure along with a failure to insert a stint to drain kidney stones then resulted in a failed extraction of the kidney stones, which resulted in the insertion of a nephrostomy tube through the back to drain the kidney. After all of that, another invasive extraction will be attempted tomorrow. I have little reason to expect successful this time either. Dr. Jacobs said, "This will be no big deal." She's not the one with a tube in her back due to foolish decisions. Do yourself a favor and use a different urologist from the very beginning.

Excellent experience with Dr. Jacobs. Friendly, professional, asked appropriate questions, took the time to answer my questions, I left with a sense of confidence in her qualifications and experience. This is coming from someone who has seen many doctors and have had much experience as a patient.

I would have given zero stars if possible. She gave me about 4 minutes of her time to tell me to live with my problems till I was older because she normally treated older patients. She didn’t even take time to look at my problems. She obviously has a chip on her shoulder. Her bedside manner was terrible. Save your time and money because she was a waste of both.
