Not worth the wait
I waited three months to get an appointment with this doctor. When I arrived, I was eight minutes. I called on my way to let them know. When I was brought back, the tech said that because I was late I wouldn’t get a full appointment. When the doctor arrived, her first question was why I was late? How many times have you waited for a Dr. more than eight minutes? Almost every time and do we ask why the doctor was late? The visit went down from there where she kept interrupting me to the point where I just kept quiet. She seemed to be more interested in completing her note as she typed on the keyboard constantly. I went there for recurrent mouth lesions, and she never even looked in my mouth. Instead, I got a full page questionnaire on recurrent headaches?? After I left, as soon as I got to my car, I was notified that her visit summary was already complete as she spent most of my visit typing into her keyboard rather than listening to me or doing an exam of my actual complaints.

I have been a patient of Dr. Engel's for many years. I travel to Scripps every 10 weeks from Arizona for treatment of my chronic migraine. Dr. Engel has always listened to me and factored my feelings into my treatment plan. Her staff is absolutely wonderful in dealing with my insurance and all of the battles that come with getting my injections (at least through my insurance). Dr. Engel and her staff have truly been lifesavers for me. They are excellent at arranging specialized tests, prescribing various combinations of preventive medication, and finding the proper abortive treatments for me. I simply cannot say enough good about Dr. Engel. I would follow her anywhere she would ever go, but hopefully that won't be an issue. And, Dr. E., if you're reading this review, thank you for your care and compassion. I appreciate you.

Six years ago I was involved in a very serious accident that left me with violent migraines. I struggled to find a doctor who did not treat me as "just another head-case". Fortunately for me, I found Dr Engel. Dr Engel spent a considerable amount of time listening to me and understanding my specific pain points. We jointly developed a roadmap to recovery and I have been a happy patient ever since. Dr Engel is a leader in her field and there is no one that I would rather go to for treatment.

I saw Dr Engel since my sister in California sees her & recommended her (i live in Arizona.) Dr Engel was the Dr I have been searching for over the last 17 years! She was so very smart & explained everything to me so i could understand exactly what she meant. She was kind, caring and patient with me-she recommended medicines & treatment for me & discussed them with me completely. I felt so at ease with her & all of the office staff, as they were just the best too. TY!!

I have been a patient of dr engel’s for 9 yrs. she is smart & concerned & professional & put me right at ease. Her old nurse, Lisa, was a definate asset to her practice-very professional, kind & patient. Dr engel made my migraines 101% better after the very first visit & has continued ever since. I get individualized care from her. There is no cookie cutter image with dr engel & migraines-specialized & individualized treatment with us all. Go see her for the best care ever! ;)

The staff at the office is great, and she is a helpful, delightful doctor. She is kind, informed, and explains clearly. She is also proactive-- I transferred from her to another doctor who was a specialist in epilepsy. He eventually said he could do no more for me and I should stick to sub-par Then I returned to her and she immediately proposed next steps and had tons of ideas, and quickly got me a appointment with a hard to schedule specialist for a test. She is proactive and motivating!

I have a complex seizure disorder. Dr. Engel has been my neurologist for 8-9 years. She is amazing, compassionate, brilliant, she listens, asks questions, offers great advice and gives you excellent care. Her staff is wonderful and her appointments run on time. You are in safe hands and can thoroughly trust this doctor.

dr engel really helped me with my migraines...i have had them for 20 years. she was so kind, patient, smart and took her time with me & answered all of the questions that i had. she knew right away what type of migraines i've had and perscribed a medicine that has helped me 95% after only 2 visits! if you are looking for a neurologist that is up on all of the latest treatment options, cut to the chase & see the best as i am so glad that i did!

Did not give me accurate information about medication side effects. Nursing staff rude and impatient. Their office seems arrogant and disinterested in keeping me as a loyal patient.
