Dr. Elizabeth Gower, MD

I went to CHKD for routine annual check up with my 15-year old. We didn't have any questions, because I learned that every question could be a reason to get charged. Dr. Gower asked if we want to do thyroid check up when she looked at the paperwork from last year. I said no because everything was fine last year. She asked again and again and when she said you really really don't want to be sure? I said ok, we'll make the appointment just to be done. She handed me a phone number I have to call to schedule an appt. Also she was very pushy for immunization shots. Even my daughter didn't need any I was told that we should show up immediately when she turns 16. When we were leaving my daughter commented that it was weird how pushy she was. I got it why. We were charged $79 for thyroid diagnosis. I tried to dispute it, I tried to write letter, I tried to call them. Nobody cares. Just pay. Ugly business Dr. Gower.

Went in for my daughters sick visit and she was very thorough and also helped me with other some things postpartum. She’s very caring and understanding and would highly recommend her for your children’s care. Thank you Dr Gower for your kindness and professionalism and your ability to talk through medical concerns

Patient care was highly unsatisfactory. She was very unfriendly to my child and I noticed there was a difference between how she treated my family compared to some of the other white families. CHKD needs to look into this.

If I could check 10 stars, I would! Dr. Gower further researched an illness my 7 year old had and helped find treatment options. Her genuine concern for my son's and our family's well-being was beyond anything I have experienced. My oldest is almost 16, so I have had many years to compare pediatrcians. I am so grateful!
