Exceptional care
From the moment I met Dr. Gardner I knew I was in good hands. She clearly knew what she was doing, and importantly, was able to explain the nuances of my shoulder injury and surgery plan in a way I could understand. Despite a significant tear in my shoulder, Dr. Gardner was able to make the repair and now I’m back to 100%. I’d recommend her and her team to anyone.

Treats you how she would want to be treated
I came to Dr. Gardner with a complicated and unique injury that I had been struggling with for over a year. I knew that I would need surgery but had sought out several opinions and after meeting with Dr. Gardner, I knew her approach is the one that I needed. Rather than opting for a flashy or overly complicated procedure (as had been suggested to me), she suggested something she was familiar with that aimed to address the root cause of my pain. From my first appointment through all of my post op care she was always fully attentive and responsive to my questions and concerns. Having struggled with this injury for so long, I was nervous and skeptical at times of pain that I was having. Dr. Gardner is the type of provider who you can tell is listening and answers completely and clearly. Often times healthcare appointments feel rushed and with Dr. Gardner that was never the case. I would recommend Dr. Gardner to anyone and plan to see her again for any future orthopedic injuries.

Skillful with excellent bedside manner
I have seen a number of orthopedic surgeons for various conditions over the years. Dr. Gardner artfully combines a personable attitude, professional but approachable bedside manner and masterful surgical technique. I have no doubt that my ACL repair will give me decades of stability in which to enjoy time with my children. It is a travesty that she is not heading Yale’s Sports Medicine program. I give her my highest personal and professional recommendation.

Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair
I highly recommend Dr. Elizabeth Gardner as a sports medicine surgeon. Dr. Gardner is a thorough, efficient, and compassionate physician. Importantly she takes individual health goals into account when planning surgical procedure requirements, preoperative, and postoperative care, always taking the time to communicate with me at each stage. Finally, I am ever grateful for her surgical skills that have returned me to full mobility, and strength, enabling me to resume all of my activities. Thank you! Thank you!

Excellent surgeon
We brought our son to see Dr.Gardner for a knee issue. She took her time explaining what needed to be done and was very thorough. She knew timing was an issue to get him back on the field and performed his surgery on her non surgical day. We thought that was above and beyond. She went out of her way to match him with the perfect physical therapist and together with great progress he got back on the field two weeks sooner then expected. Mid season he had an issue with his shoulder and Dr. Gardner saw him on the same day we called! We felt Dr. Gardner took her time with our son at every appointment and never rushed us with the many questions we had, we also felt that she truly understood our athlete and his needs and goals!

Elizabeth Gardner, MD is a very competent, knowledgeable, and conscientious physician. She studies her patients' charts very carefully before entering room so she interacts with patient face to face instead of looking at a computer during visit. She does not "shoot from the hip"- no pun intended. Quite the opposite. She is thoroughly versed on patient's medical history before she enters room and knows her patients well. She performed surgery on my 12 y.o. daughter after a traumatic knee injury, which is healing beautifully thanks to her excellent technical skills and outstanding followup care. I recommend her highly.

Not likely to recommend Dr. Gardner on my first impression. Shoot's from the hip in generalities before checking your diagnostic medical reports. In-other-word's, she shoots from the hip with a bunch of maybe's, I'm not sure, perhaps, etc. If you're suffering from acute or chronic pain and know exactly the cause of your condition, maybe, perhaps, you should shop around for better advice. After all, your the one who's suffering, right?
