A gem
Dr. Kitces is thorough, very knowledgeable, good with follow thru and explains things well. His outcomes are good and I’ve been treated by him for many years. Few people realize he was ten years on the full time staff at the Medical College of Virginia. He is still doing research. Wait time can be long sometimes but quality is worth that.

Two Months til Appointment, 1 Hour Wait to be Seen
After waiting about an hour past my scheduled appointment time and seeing many patients who arrived after me go before, I asked if this was a typical wait duration. I was told that Dr. Kitces gave "very thorough examinations" and that I was "his next patient". I left without being seen. I was not looking forward to establishing a relationship with a doctor that would make me wait an hour each time I went to Richmond Dermatology Center. My interpretation of the episode? This doctor does not care enough to treat his patients respectfully, that is, within a reasonable time. If the practice was responsible, it would give Dr. Kitces more time for each appointment and plan his schedule accordingly. After that appointment, I visited "Healthgrades" to check on the doctor's reputation. It looks like he cannot be counted upon to honor appointment times. I should have checked here first.

Long, long wait times. He and his wife are both rude (I saw her for acne issues). He lost my grandpa's biopsy (which was cancerous), and didn't do anything about it. Irresponsible.

I felt very confident that he is a very good doctor and when I left I knew that I was in good shape. I just wish that I didn't have to wait so long to see him ,over an hour from appointment time to when he came in the door. I guess good things are worth waiting for, however it would have been nice to have one of his assistance come in and see how I was doing. Or maybe even a water or something. Other than that ,I felt good with him seeing me instead of others in Richmond.

He's great if you have nothing scheduled for the entire day. If you have a 9:00am appointment, plan on being seen around 11am or so. I understand taking your time and being busy however I have seen Dr. Kitces over 5 times now and each time I have waited over an hour in the lobby and then another hour in the office before being seen. No one informs you he is running late or an estimated time on when you will be seen. Shame on me for not finding someone else to go to...

I took my 96 year old mother to see Dr Kitces to check a spot on her arm. Despite the fact that we had an appointment for 10:30, and the fact that they knew my mother is elderly, it was over 2hrs before she was seen. I asked a couple of times when she might be seen and what the hold up was and the answer was Dr Kitces is slow. He takes a long time. If this is the case they should schedule his appointments accordingly and not make 96 year old people wait over 2 hrs to see him. The visit? 5 Min
