Dr Callendar was a new OBGYN at the hospital I was at when I went into labor. Out of all the OBGYNs that I could've had and I ended up stuck with her. As a first time mom, I had no idea what to expect. I ended up on an epidural for 36 hours when it finally came time to push. I was pushing and pushing for about 2 hours, and nothing was happening. Since I was extremely tired and hungry, I begged for a C Section. Dr Callendar stated 'Most 1st time Moms push for at least 3 hours'. As someone who was already in a huge amount of distress, hearing this was absolutely shocking. Her bedside manner is non existent. She kept trying to deter me from a C section until she finally allowed me to have one, but not without making me feel guilty for the choice. I won't even get into the infections and terrible healing process I had to go through. My incision took over 4 months to heal. I'm disgusted with the way she presents herself in front of her patients. Especially those in active labor.

She delivered my twins and it was the worst experience of my life. I met with her a couple of times in the office of center for women’s health in Newport News VA. Needless to say when she was the on call doctor when I went into labor I was not excited. All through my pregnancy my babies were very healthy. She had some complications I guess delivering my daughter and advised their father to turn the camera off while filming the delivery. Months later my child was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and she mysteriously did not work for the Center for women’s health anymore. It hurts me to see that according to the comments not much has changed about her. She is still rude and condescending. We have to live with this disability and I have to continue to find it in my heart to ask the Lord to bless Dr. Callender in spite of… imagine the difficulty… but God is good…

She delivered my second child and I initially thought she was professional and knowledgeable. After the delivery I never saw her again. She never followed up to check on me as other doctors from the practice did. A few weeks after delivery I was experiencing concerns I wanted to bring to her attention. I emailed her through the portal that the practice uses and she responds by saying to call the front desk to discuss my concerns. At that time I found out she no longer works at the practice.

The most uncompassionate , disconcerned, rude and careless doctor I have every had an experience with! This field needs people who are caring towards others and she doesn't deserve to have anyone as a patient! I never want anyone to feel the way I did after leaving an appointment with her! The other staff at Hampton roads obgyn center are great! She just doesn't deserve to be a part of their team! Or any other facility!
