Said nothing
He seemed cold and disinterested. Discussed nothing about the test results and spent less than two minutes with me at my first (and last) appointment with him. Disappointing.

More than a 10-year patient-doctor relationship
I love his honesty. I admire him for the preemptive approach that he has applied to my glaucoma monitoring and treatment. I grieve over the fact that I recently married and need to consider a local ophthalmologist elsewhere (I'll be coming back even when I move). I hope my new bride understands the trusted relationship I have with him. I also deeply respect the fact that he has been involved in glaucoma research. As a professional pilot who is dependent on their vision for their livelihood, I feel very fortunate to have a patient-doctor relationship with Dr. Day. I don't know of anyone in the Atlanta area that I would rather trust with my vision.

Very disappointing experience
I read the bad reviews, but his office is close by and I wanted to give him a try.The receptionist was very nice and the young nurse who prepped me was wonderful. But that went down the drain when Dr. Day walked in the room. He just wasn't very nice, bordering on snarky. Worse, his diagnosis was inaccurate. Said I needed a laser procedure within 6 months, and it made me very nervous. Went home to think about it, and decided to get it done ASAP. Made a second appointment to get the procedure done. No they couldn't do it right away . . . and then he ridiculed me for being so nervous. REALLY? Went to Emory Eye Clinic and they did some tests that Dr. Day did not do. The more invasive test found that I do not need a procedure.

Great Doctors are hard to find!
I have been a patient of Dr Day's for over six years. Dr Day always listens to my concerns and successfully completed two laser surgeries in his office. I want to express my gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Douglas Day and his staff for diligently caring for my eye problems. They are not only most professional but always attentive to my needs and concerns.

He didn’t have time to explain my eye condition. He always in rush. He is not interested to give answers of our questions and concerns. He talked to me for 1min and said everything is okay and left. I would not recommend his name for glaucoma patients especially for international people.

An appalling experience w/Dr. Day! At the appt., a tech escorted me to an exam room & said she would test my vision. I explained that I was there for a glaucoma consult & had just rec'd a full vision screening/eye exams ten days ago. Since I didn't want to duplicate any tests, & ins. would not pay for repeated services, I told the tech I would call the Pearle Vision E. Cobb office to get my recs. The tech directed the office receptionist to do this. A few moments later the receptionist reported that Pearle was closed. It was only 2:30, so I cld Pearle myself. I reached Pearle; they agreed to forward my recs. immediately &returned to the waiting rm. Later I was sent to an exam rm. There Dr. Day abruptly introduced himself & angrily accused me of "telling me how to run my practice!"He continued to berate me while I stood shaken & in disbelief. When I regained some composure, I explained that Pearle Vision was forwarding eye exam results from 10 days ago. Day's abuse was unwarranted!

Neither Dr. Day nor his "team" ever responded to my emails and phone calls for emergency assistance after developing conjunctivitis From 10 September 2020 when I desperately needed antibiotics for the conjunctivitis to this day one week later, I have not heard a word, NOT ONE, from Dr. Day or his team!!!

I saw Dr Day as a new patient and he seemed pleasing enough and answered my questions. He was not particularly friendly and he didn't ask me whether my prescriptions needed refills nor ask about my medications, or suggest a next appt and so it could have been more thorough, but I was satisfied enough with the visit and his knowledge. I had an issue that required referral by him to a retinal specialist. After I saw the specialist, I needed to ask an important followup question to Dr Day (and records from RS were forwarded back to Dr. Day). Because there was no patient portal, I emailed a detailed question to the staff who immediately told me she had forwarded it to him. After a few days, I contacted staff again who told me they had forwarded it to his assistant. Still never heard back so staff informed the office manager. Here we are now 11 days later and I am being completely ignored. I now guess I need to start over with a new Dr. Ridiculously unprofessional by staff and/or Dr.

Every time we went there, we have to wait at least AN HOUR to be call to the back. One of his assistant will see you, do the questionairs, and the eyedrops. Then you're out in the waiting room area and WAIT AGAIN for 15-20 minutes. Then he'll see you for 2-3 minutes. He doesn't explain your condition clearly. Even when he wants you to have surgery, he doesn't give you clear instructions. If you ask him a question, he answered it rudely. His surgery coordinator is horrible.
