Great Bed Side Manner
Amazing- We saw Dr. Patel Yesterday in Athens, he was amazing with my daughter. He was well spoken, and explained things in a way I could understand. He also was so welcoming to my child and listened to what she had to say (a 3 years old). We are so thankful for his kindness to make this process easier. I would recommend him to anyone with a child, We were HEARD, and he made sure we left UNDERSTANDING what was going on and how to fix it. We look forward to our follow up.

The best pediatric GI
I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Patel who treated my son. From the moment we walked into his office, he was attentive, knowledgeable, and informative. He took the time to listen to my son's symptoms and concerns, asking thorough questions to try to understand the root of the issue. He did not hesitate to order diagnostic testing to quickly find a diagnosis and begin treatment. He explained everything to us in a way that was easy to understand and made sure we were comfortable with the next steps. Overall, I was incredibly impressed with the care and attention to detail that he provided. He is truly one of the best physicians I have come across

We Will Never Reschedule
After a month and a half wait, I arrived at the front desk at 12:30 on the dot with my daughter for what I thought was a 12:30 appointment. Turns out, the front desk had 12:00. The ridiculous thing is, I called in around 11:45 to alert the office that my GPS said there was a slow down ahead and we might be a few minutes late; but the office was closed for lunch until 12:30! We arrived and there was no warmth whatsoever from the young woman at the front desk. No, "Oh no, sorry about that. I'm not sure what happened." Instead, she asked accusatorially, "Didn't you receive a reminder text." Wow! Someone did call a few days prior only to correct my daughter's DOB for billing. We were invited to sit down while she checked with Dr. Patel. We sat for 15 minutes after which I was called to the counter and told that the doctor has an "afternoon meeting" and they'll reschedule us. I instantly declined. I'm actually a doctor, and would never treat anyone coming into my office this way. Gross.

This was our second visit to Dr. Patel over a span of 8 years. Each visit Dr. Patel took the time to sit and talk to my son about his pains. He was very thorough and attentive and has helped to resolve the problem with care. I would highly recommend Dr. Dinesh Patel.

We had 2 appointments with Dr. Patel. The first appointment, was quick and he diagnosed my daughter with constipation from an xray on file from CHOA. He did not ask questions, nor examine my daughter. During our second visit, Dr. Patel did not listen to our concerns. He was rushed and judgmental. Within minutes, he was more concerned about referring us back to the pediatrician and to a therapist, than he was trying to help us in any way. I asked that he please help us, and he ordered a CT scan. His nurse called to say that the CT scan showed nothing and to follow up with the pediatrician. Both the therapist and the pediatrician said that my daughter needed medical attention from a GI. The final straw was that I recently read the CT scan results on MyChart, and saw that there were several identified concerns, and a recommendation for an MRE. I've wasted a month trying to find help for my daughter, but am now glad to have another doctor who cares and listens!

My son has been seeing Dr. Patel for about 6 months, now. Dr.Patel has always been very attentive, listens to the concerns, explains the diagnosis as well as the treatment plan in as much detail as you need and is over all very personable. He speaks to my son (6yo) directly and asks him questions about how he feels and what steps we need to make to make him feel better. One of the best doctors/specialists we’ve ever seen.

My son had his 1st visit with Dr. Patel today and I felt like he listened and explained his treatment plan very well to me and my son. He doesn't seem to be very aggressive as far as ordering scopes right off (which I appreciate) however he did order blood work and gave me some great tips to help with my son's condition as well as medications. I would highly recommend him to friends and family.

Dr. Patel is very knowledgeable and thorough. I feel he basically saved my son's life when he was an infant. However, my most recent experience was negative. Dr. Patel did not even greet me and proceeded to criticize me in front of my son and then brought up a very petty matter: Almost 2 years ago, I had called the office for a question that had been written on the notes they gave me. He chose to bring this to my attention and not sure why? Was he irritated that I wasted the staff's time?

Worst experience ever from a doctor, much less a pediatric doctor. This doctor was rude and disrespectful to us. He did nothing to diagnose my child. He acted like there was nothing wrong with my child, and he was wrong. We got to a new doctor and found out our child has a genetic enzyme disorder. Our child suffered due to this doctor's ignorance and arrogance.
