Dr Kirby is knowledgeable and empathetic
I consulted with Dr. Kirby on my condition that has not been improving. Dr. Kirby was thorough and empathetic in her interview. She conducted a detailed clinical examination. Her diagnostic skills resulted in identifying the likely source of my problem and treatment recommendations that already resulted in some improvement in my symptoms. With her knowledge and clinical skills, Dr. Kirby elicited my trust that I am in good hands and my treatment is on the right track. I left her office feeling reassured, encouraged and hopeful.

Very unpleasant experience
Dr. Kirby did not listen to anything I said. She made me feel stupid and that I was wasting her time. Anytime I tried to describe my health concern, she would respond with an answer that was the complete opposite of what I said. I waited over a month for this appointment, during which time I was scared to death of my health issues. She completely dismissed the entire issue, and treated me as though she was annoyed that I had come to see her. Not once in my entire 47 years have I ever felt this way about a doctor's visit.

Flexible migraine neurologist, takes a bit to warm
I was referred to Dr. Kirby to receive botulinum toxin injection treatment for my migraines. She trained directly under the doctor who developed this treatment, so she is one of the best to see for this! She can be rather direct when it comes to speaking and will answer your questions honestly and frankly. She does take a bit to warm up to - stressful days tend to cause her to come off as more rushed and rude. I will admit I was put off at first. However, I have found that she really is a kind and caring doctor who genuinely wants to see her patients’ pain eased. She is up to date on the latest drugs and treatments for migraines and also what and how insurance will pay for them. For migraines, I highly recommend her!

My experience was entirely positive! Dr. Kirby was thorough, and knowledgeable, with a warm and friendly manner. She took time to listen to my descriptions and gave a clear impression of her diagnosis. I have experienced other local neurologists both clinically as the patient, and professionally. Dr. Kirby compares very favorably. I recommend her!
