Dr. Robert Bolen, MD

Existing Patient have always been happy here period however, could not get anyone to return by calls, left multiple messages to make an appointment for my 1 year. Follow up to no availe, no returned, calls or email. Not sure. What is going on, but not normal for them disappointed..

Dr Bolen is great, but how would you know if you can’t get into see him? I am an established patient of Dr Bolen’s and I need to make an appointment. I have called multiple times and all I get is a recording sending me to their webpage. Because I have been there before I have a password name and code. I am a STROKE patient! I cannot navigate through this! Do I have to change neurologists because I can’t possibly make an appointment???

Everyone in Dr. Bolen’s office was very professional yet very personable. Dr. Bolen was very thorough and had obviously read my history. His comments were very clear, straightforward and easy to understand. I left my appointment feeling that my consultation had answered all my questions and I felt confident going forward with my treatment. My husband and I highly recommend Dr. Bolen and his staff.

I had an appointment with Dr Bolen yesterday. I drove 2 hours to meet with him after making an appointment and waiting in daily excruciating pain. He barely gave me 10 minutes of his time, asked me very few questions and threw me a new drug to take without discussing what could be causing the issue, options for treatment, etc. He then rudely opened the door, while I was still talking, and walked out of the exam room. He was disrespectful and unprofessional. His staff did try to make up for his unacceptable behavior, however there is no explanation for this type of treatment. I DO NOT recommend wasting your time here.

Dr. Bolen was very receptive to my problems, including giving me a multi-question quiz testing my memory. I feel very confident about going to see him.

Dr. Bolen saw me on time and his staff around him were excellent as well as Dr. Bolen. It is so far my first with the Doctor - he was not rushed and very caring. I believe he will get to the bottom of my nerve pain. Highly recommended!

I think it was a good first visit to establish care as I've recently moved to this area. I feel we have similar goals in helping me stay on my feet with my severe Idiopathic Neuropathy and be as physically strong and active as possible to help maintain independence and have the best quality of life. I look forward to a continued partnership with Dr. Bolen.

Dr Bolin was very thorough to understand my condition for first visit. We just relocated to SC and needed a Neurologist to treat my seizures. We feel very fortunate to have met Dr Bolin as he is knowledgeable, professional and experienced in his field. He is also a good communicator and caring person.

His preparation, knowledge, care, and attention to successful plan moving forward.

Always good to have your prepatient paperwork and be prepared for your copay.

My headaches concerns brought me to this amazing Group of Physicians and staff. The staff was so gracious and made me feel quite comfortable. Dr. Bolen was knowledgeable, patient and thorough in his assessment of my problem, and strategically suggested that we take it one step at a time insofar as far as diagnostic tools. Only complaint had nothing to do with the Doctor and the staff: getting the appointment was a technological and frustrating nightmare. It took me 4 phone calls and 2 emails in the space of 5 days to actually speak to someone on scheduling. My suggestion would be to have someone walk through this process to see how it could be clarified and streamlined. I was 95% close to giving up. (though quite glad that I did not)

I have visited the Goose Creek & West Ashley offices. For starters, you are greeted with a sincere small from his friendly staff that makes you feel very comfortable. The mannerisms of his assistants are impeccable. Dr. Bolen himself is very well versed. He not only hears you but listens to truly understand. It’s enough having to navigate through the migraine challenges but when you have someone that cares it makes a difference. He will not just treat you but follow up as well & encourages to reach out if your condition worsens. My family & I highly recommend Dr. Bolen; he is knowledgeable, attentive, professional & he cares.

The wait time for my first neurology appointment at MUSC this year was 5 months, and the neurologist I saw did nothing to help me because I am trying to get pregnant. I called Tidewater Neurology and got an appointment the next week. At my visit with Dr. Bolen, he knew the risk vs benefit of potential medications for migraine during pregnancy. He made a clear, logical plan to help me get my migraines under control while protecting my future baby, and I have a follow up appointment scheduled with him for next month. I’m so relieved that I’m seeing Dr. Bolen!

From Jen at the front desk to Brandi doing my intake, they are friendly, professional and kind. Dr Bolen is smart and thorough and our time together was a start to putting a diagnosis together....which is no small feat! I'm so pleased to have found Tidewater Neurology and glad to have Dr Bolen on the team.
