Lack of compassionate care
While Dr. Kim certainly understands the science of psychiatric medications and options, she did not display the ability to navigate difficult symptoms with compassion or care. When symptoms arose from the medications, or medications did not work, it was treated rather dismissively, as if the patient was the problem rather than a mis-matched medication. Referrals to outside care or additional support were flippant, defensive, and dismissive, rather than co-seeking a solution to comprehensive care. While psychiatrists certainly aren't therapists, a certain amount of compassion is needed whenever treating mental health concerns, and egos should be left at the door when a medication doesn't work, or when a patient has side-effects. Unfortunately, ego drives the ship here, and something not working is taken as a personal affront rather than simply a mismatch.

Wonderful Psychiatrist
I have been a client of Dr. Kim's since 2017; she has guided me through many difficult times and helped me find the best medication fit for myself. Dr. Kim is not a pill pusher, and she tries to get to know you personally to see what else in your life could be beneficial to improving your overall well-being. Dr. Kim has helped me feel more positive and confident to advocate for myself medically and has provided extensive psychoeducation when asked. I appreciate that Dr. Kim takes the time to get to know you and has a warmness about her, which is difficult to find in a Psychiatrist in my experience.

I never met Dr. Kim, but without my knowledge was referred to Neuragain for ketamine therapy. The saleswoman was aggressive, and encouraged me to pay $3000. on the phone, which I did. I called and emailed the next and cancelled and was promised a refund but they never cancelled my appts. NOT OKAY!

I’ve been working with Dr. Kim for a while now. She is incredibly knowledgeable and kind. Compared to other psychiatrists, she actually spends time with you—does not practice “quick diagnosis” as many other psychiatrists do. She gets to know your current functioning and thoroughly covers history. Dr. Kim seems to genuinely care about her patients—at least that’s how I feel. I trust her with my care immensely.

My son received Dr. Kim's ketamine infusions and the process worked quite well. He is a completely changed person for the better. My issue with this practice is the caring. My son received six infusions. Dr. Kim prescribed three more that I am not sure he needed (he never received them). Dr. Kim charged my credit card on file. My son, a young adult, was hospitalized shortly before the infusions for a condition unrelated to the treatment. He did not cancel his appointments, which I attribute to his condition. Dr. Kim allowed all three no shows to occur without following up with me or my son. I can understand no follow up with one no-show but something was obviously wrong. Under the circumstances my son would not have been able to receive a call while in the hospital. Dr. Kim surely had my number on file in case of emergency and if not it can be easily found. There was no recourse with Dr. Kim or Neurogain - not even a small refund as if a full profit margin is always necessary.
